If you see a new inflammatory thread title, just resist the urge to respond to it. Let it die into oblivion. Every time you respond, you are "Digg-ing" it and bringing it to the top.

I'm guilty of this myself; commenting on divisive cultural "wedge" issues. I don't even realize it sometimes until it's too late.
