Party Affiliation Declaration Form

found here: http://www.nj.gov/oag/elections/form_pdf%27s/Party_Affliation_form-11.1.07.pdf

You're going to have to hand deliver it I would think. Unless they mean postmarked by Dec. 17.

Anyway, I'm from NJ and I've done my piece. I have directly been involved with changing 8 people's parties and even more brand new registrations. Everything is in place, time to vote.

Edit: The website states the following: Mail or deliver the Party Affiliation Form to the Commissioner of Registration in your county or you can also file it with your municipal clerk.

You can find contact information here: http://www.nj.gov/oag/elections/loc_officials_doe.html

I spoke to the lady from the elections board.. She said because I was unaffliatedI could actually show up on election day, declare my candidacy and vote for Ron Paul..

Hah, I think she was a Ron Paul supporter... She said If I had ANY problems to have the voting station call her on election day and they will make sure I can vote.

I'm another Jersey-ite that just switched (Libertarian to Republican). If I called Trenton, would they be able to tell me my registration status?

I just want to make sure it went through. I mailed them the registration/party change form about two weeks ago.

I called them a couple weeks ago because I was not sure if I was registered as an independent or a republican. They gave me the number to my county board of elections and after calling them and providing my name and address was told I was an unaffiliated voter. She said that I could simply show up on election day.

I was told to make sure they handed me a BLUE slip at the table to vote the Republican line

She also told me NOT to take a pink slip if they try to give you one (democrats) because once you take it they most likely will not change it for you.

So be sure you ask for a blue Republican slip.

Good information, I'm canvasing an unaffiliated list this weekend and will inform them of this. Thanks very much.
