This just came up in an unrelated topic and thought it might be better answered as its own question.

The position of President is part of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH. It is not for them to write laws. That is the job of the Legistative Branch. Executive Branch enforces the laws, and can VETO laws passed by the Legislative Branch, as a part of the checks and balances.

Why are all of these idiots all trying to Legislate when it is beyond the powers granted to them in the Constitution?

Now am I understanding that correctly or do Presidents have the power to write laws? If so, what is Congress for?
