It would really be awesome seeing another $2-300k thrown in there from offline donations. I'm proud of everyone involved with whats going on, and would love to see us shatter Kerry's record.

They have to use conservative accounting principles when calculating the offline donations. Offline donations require follow thru which doesnt always occur. This in my opinion is why they generally delay counting those until they are actually in hand.

You know, the campaign could theoretically have taken a hell of a lot of credit card donations over the phone today from people who prefer to do it that way, and I know a lot of people who, despite a lot of reassurances, refuse to submit their credit card info to anyone on the Internet.

Once their credit card clears in 5-10 seconds, it's fair game as an offline donation and counts today since the cash is in hand.

Also, there were lots of power outages across the country. This could mean people couldn't use the Internet to donate so they did it by phone instead.
