In Q1, the average donation to Ron Paul's campaign was $1369. While its great to see so much enthusiasm and support, this is extremely problematic. It means that many of Ron Paul's supporters have already hit the donation cap and cannot donate any more. To contrast, Obama supporters donated an average of $246 in Q1, so he's raised a lot more and his supporters can give quite a bit more as they continue to earn money in their lives.

Hopefully the Q2 numbers will show many more supporters and a lower average donation so that Ron Paul's bankroll can continue to grow. The solution, of course, is to make sure his message spreads like wildfire. While we can run a cheaper campaign, its eventually going to take some heavy lifting with an advertising campaign to reach some people, and we'll need money for that.

thats because in Q1, noone knew about Paul. Since then he has exploded off the charts.
