Got Liberty?,

Your avatar cracked me up. This place is too funny.

I hope CBS is kind to him. I don't know what time it's on either. I'm east coast and will start looking for it around 6:00.

They might be filming something today, but there is no Evening News on Sundays. My guess is that it will actually air tomorrow.

Huh? Basically everybody in the country has football on right now. That's lame... none of us will be able to watch it.

Not true...the late CBS game is blacked out in many areas. Those areas WILL receive the CBS Evening News. If your station is broadcasting Colts vs. Raiders; you're out of luck.

If you see skiing; then you will see the CBS Evening news...others will be stuck with a meaningless NFL game. Bummer for them...

Right, that's what I'm saying. Some people will be blacked out. But everyone else is getting the game. A small percentage of the country has the game blacked out. I don't live in Indiana or Cali, yet I'm getting the Colts/Raiders game.

Exactly. CBS Evening News in on my TV schedule...of course; this is PRECISELY why Paul is on CBS tonight. They can claim they covered Paul; it's just that very few will get to see it.

The VAST majority of the country gets a 4:15pm game as well. Those will go straight through to 60 Minutes. The Evening News will only be available for a very small portion of the country.

I have the feed out of New York on Direct TV channel 380.

CBS Evening News is on now.

They're starting with politics - John McCain and Joe L going to endorse him.

MRoCkEd
12-16-2007, 05:03 PM
watch a 2 second mention at the end

MS0453
12-16-2007, 05:04 PM
Lol They start the show off by mentioning how McCain is an outsider who has positions that are unpopular among the GOP establishment: immigration, Iraq (what?) and farm subsidies (against them apparently)

Jwaksman
12-16-2007, 05:05 PM
YOUTUBE IT. I'm watching the Colts game, but I want to see what gets put on the (technically) national news.

It is ironic how everyone is spending 10 times as much time talking about McCain's endorsement by two newspapers and Lieberman as they are about the fundraising. There's no QUESTION that $6 Million in cash will go a lot further than endorsements by Democratic-leaning papers and a Democratic Senator who couldn't even do well in the Democratic New Hampshire primary.

Actually, it's not a surprise.... If Dr. Paul had the endorsement from Lieberman (not that he would, of course, the two disagree on basically everything) and McCain was raising $6 Million today, the McCain story would still lead.

All I see is a story about the writer's strike :(

12-16-2007, 05:16 PM
Now they're talking about a presidential candidate in Russia, a guy who has never run for office. Nice.

12-16-2007, 05:16 PM

MRoCkEd

kylejack
12-16-2007, 05:17 PM
Do we know for sure he is going to be on there? All we have is the mention of them filming at HQ, right? So maybe this is for tomorrow's news?

jdmetz
12-16-2007, 05:20 PM
Maybe it is for their Primary Questions series on the "major candidates"?

MsDoodahs
12-16-2007, 05:23 PM
I'm guessing that if they mention him at all, it will be at the very end.

Jwaksman
12-16-2007, 05:24 PM
Hopefully they're just filming today and it will be aired tomorrow. The audience will be SUBSTANTIALLY larger tomorrow.

It's not the OP that got his dates mixed up. It's posted on the campaign website as being on tonight.

FenceWalker
12-16-2007, 05:34 PM
Well, the OP didn't get the date wrong...The RP campaign site must have because they said on the 16th Ron would be on the CBS evening news.

Can I get the last 30 minutes of my life back, please? I never watch CBS national news. Lol

thePhilosopher
12-16-2007, 05:57 PM
With the NFL games ending late, this is probably a better situation for RP. I don't know of anyone (grandparents included) that watch the CBS Evening News on Sunday night. Ugh, wish the campaign wouldn't have led us to think it'd be on tonight, though!
