The only way you could know that was if you were foolishly visiting the site.

To donate, go straight to the donation page: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate

i just tried to donate and it locked up on me......

Same here! The donate page took forever to load and then when I submitted my info, it crashed!

I'm giving it 30 minutes to see if it went through, but if I don't recieve a confirm e-mail by then, I'm redoing it.

If you can, just wait for 3-5 AM to donate, thats usually the slowest time.

If it didn't, we still have all day to try again. That's why I did it now; I'd have time to try again and still have it count as on the 16th.

I'm just hoping I can get it done before I have to go to bed. My husband and I decked out our kids Radio Flyer Wagon with Ron Paul signs and will be cruising the town with it all day.

Got my email from the site confirming my $125 donation...

...and my email from the blimp confirming my extra $25 worth of helium.

I love the internet!

Not here in nice, sunny Miami. :) According to the bank on the way home from Wal-Mart an hour ago, it was 79 degrees.

BTW, I had to resubmit. When I did, the confirmation e-mail came right away. I did a different amount on the second to tell them apart if I did donate twice. I only got a confirm for the second amount.

I gave my contribution at about 12:10am eastern time. I didn't want to wait, for fear of this very thing happening.

I wonder if placing counters on lots of web pages might somehow bog down the system, too?

Not sure how the Flash graph works, but I'm thinking: yes, it could very well bog it down.

I'm guessing the Flash graph polls the site to get the latest donation information, so every x seconds there will be a hit on the site as long as you are viewing the graph. Multiply that frequency by the number of people viewing the graph, and you have potentially a lot of hits to the site.

Now, granted, those hits are probably only transferring information in the range of bytes. The data transfer isn't what concerns me though, its the act of making the connection; the actual hit, as it were.

But I'm probably just being paranoid. :D

Besides that....obviously. If you have not donated yet and you are on this board at this hour....well...do I need to say it.;)
