I'm just having coffee right now. I will be setting up in Brimley Michigan later. Very rural area and a small town. They will have a Parade and picnics.
Happy 4th to all.

Provo, Utah is going to got plastered with 50+ 3' x 9' Ron Paul R[evol]ution banners last night, and tens of thousands of pushcards are going to be handed out today at the parade and the Stadium of Fire tonight. That was the Utah County Meetup.

I have heard that the Salt Lake Meetup group had even more people show up for their sign making party last Saturday, and it lasted for more than half the day. Sorry I don't have a number of LARGE banners made but I am thinking at least a couple hundred?

Princeton, NJ and a little bit in Hamilton, NJ (we put some outside the popular Italian bakeries that will be seeing a ton a traffic on account of BBQs)

I couldn't get any good pictures, but in Princeton theres a very heavily traveled street called Nassau street, which is popular enough to have it's own Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nassau_Street_(Princeton))

We put up relatively large signs that read "WHO IS RON PAUL" which were constructed using 9 pieces of standard sized printer paper. They were posted to 2 of Nassau Street's public bulletin boards, twice on each board. Once facing towards pedestrians walking on the streets, and once towards traffic stopped at lights near the boards. We also put up these 9-page signs on a bulletin board at the local WaWa (it's like a Jersey version of 7-11), and we put up one more on the roof of the outside waiting area of the train station, directly above some benches.

Along with these larger signs, we put up hundreds of Ron Paul REVOLUTION, Hope For America (with information on Ron Paul's stances), and "Happy 4th of July" flyers. The Happy 4th of July ones read-

"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of:

Illegal Wiretaps, Secret Prisons,
Habeas Corpus Suspension,
and the 'PATRIOT' Act"

and then included a logo that said "RON PAUL REVOLUTION - RESTORY LIBERTY, RESTORE AMERICA"

So, those flyers and signs were still posted up pretty good all over the heavy traffic areas of Princeton when we went home last night. Unfortunately, while we were walking to the Train Station, someone ripped down the pages that said "RON PAUL" on one of our displays on Nassau Street. Luckily, we had backups so we put his name back up there and stapled it about 1000 times to prevent another take down. The boards are not usually cleared off, but rather posted-over, so I didn't feel bad about putting in so many staples that it would be impossible to rip down.

Anyway, we only got one good picture of our signs, and it's the one on the roof of the train station, so here it is! http://www.theworldtakes.com/whoisronpaul.jpg

Huh? This makes it sound like he is for illegal wiretaps, etc. He certainly is not pursuing these things at all.

Mine.

With the fonts and emphasis used in the text on the flyer it is clearly intended to show that those things are un-American and intended to incite thoughts of "Why are we letting this happen?"

This section of the flyer is clearly separated from the lower part which has "Ron Paul. Restore Liberty, Restore America."

You'll have to trust my decision, I think anyone who would mis-interpret the message to mean that Ron Paul is Pro-Illegal Wiretapping would have to be extremely dumb. Remember these were posted in a liberal ivy league college area with a lot of kids, and near-by to all of those flyers are other flyers with more direct information on Ron Paul's positions taken straight from his website. My attempt was to make it look very un-political, and more motivational to correct the things wrong with America.

Austin, TX is revoltionized. I made and put up a few dozen 3'x4' signs on the south side of town. Our meetup group was having a sign making party last night and were going to be hitting the north side of town. I'm not sure how that worked out, but I would imagine that there are a couple hundred signs around town this morning. I'm fixin' to go out and see how many I can find and try to take some pix.

I know there was a meetup group making and posting signs yesterday in Knoxville, TN. I wish I could have attended, but I had a Spanish paper due at midnight (for an online class). I just about walked over to see them after class yesterday, but I know that I would have been sucked in and wouldn't have gotten my homework done. Oh...it was so hard to justify, though. Hopefully I'll see some of the work they did today.

Apparantly, though (according to the Meetup group organizer): "We made ALOT of signs!!! We stayed from 1:00pm till after 9:00pm. " So that's good!

Well, no signage is allowed on public property in WV and most of the people I know have apartments or very rural houses, so I didn't hit road traffic. I did however put a Ron Paul 2008 sign in the front window of my store at the mall and write "Vote Ron Paul 2008" on every $1 bill in the store (darn finger cramps, hehe). Every little bit helps I guess.

Whereabouts in WV?

I actually put signs on just about every telephone pole in Salem last night. I wasn't aware of any ordinances forbidding it, and I figured if people could put yard sale signs up with no problem, I could put mine.

I'm over in Huntington, Spirit of 76. There could be some election signage clause in the WV code somewhere, I can't say for sure on that. I can say that in the normal Roadways section of the WV code it says you can't put signage on public property including poles and bridges. I was actually reading though it last night looking for state motor scooter laws, since I was thinking of getting one for short trips around town to save on gas. I do notice a huge difference in roads here and roads in SC where I lived for a number of years before coming back to WV. SC roads are plastered with signs around elections, but I almost never see them around here except in yards. Hopefully Salem won't make a stink over it, if it isn't allowed.

Hawaii is a different sort of place...

For one, we have very strict rules on signage; for two the state is overwhelming run by a democratic machine; thirdly, our membership is pretty much unanimous in our desire to be dignified and respectful.

That said, I am stuck in a looooong shift and am missing all the fun. I am placing the large magnet buttons on copius metal surfaces...

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=204686312&albumID=618903&imageID=3205350

Meanwhile, our friends were out last night placing the hundred and change signs we made over the last few weeks...

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=204686312&albumID=618903&imageID=3205376

and a dozen or so banners I haven't seen yet...

But, best of all; today, a contingent of us is walking with the State GOP in the Kailua Town Celebration. Wearing their shirts, and our hats...

Happy 4th everyone...

Hmmm... Thanks for the info. I'll keep it mind.

A scooter sounds like a good idea, at least for in-town use. My buddy rode one one in Morgantown for years, and it really did save him a lot of money in the long run (and parking costs, too).

Yeah, I figure if anything they'll just take 'em down. Hopefully at least a few people will see 'em first.

Monmouth-Independence Oregon. Each July 4th we have a hometown parade here; anyone can participate by just joining the group at staging area. Every year the GOP has a float so we just showed up with 6 RP signs and about 275 3-page flyers printed at home. Lucky we did. The person responsible for providing the Republican float did a very nice job; long trailer pulled by tractor with sides; there were signs reading
"Declaration of Independece" "No to Abortion" "Oregon Republican Party"
The trailer was about 25ft and could hold a good-sized group. Problem - NO ONE
SHOWED UP. We did not tell anyone we were coming, so if we hadn't the tractor driver would have been pulling a big empty trailer and would have been the sole Republican. We quickly turned it into a "Ron Paul" float. Hoisted large signs with picture of Ron Paul on each side of the float and one in the back. My daughter and I each carried a sign and walked along-side handing out flyers. And it was hot.
Temp in the low 90's and bright sun and hot pavement for about 5 miles. But we were so intent on studying the crowd to hand flyers to only those we thought would read them that the heat didn't bother us. Did drink a lot of water though.
Whenever we heard someone say "Who is Ron Paul" we made sure they got a flyer. Best of the day: One woman asked my daughter "Who is Ron Paul? Is he the one driving the tractor?" Anyway, my daughter and I both had the feeling that we had "washed" the crowd with Ron Paul's name. Lots more but this is already too long. Today another 4,000 to 6,000 thousand people were exposed to the name of our next President.:)

The Volusia County meetup group rented a booth at city hall for the fireworks in Ormond Beach. While setting up we got dumped on by the rain. We stuck it out. I ordered 1000 balloons with Ron Paul Hope For America, rented a helium tank and bought hundreds of little American flags from Oriental Trading company (American flags with made in China... what a travesty!) I made avery labels that had Ron Paul 2008 and the website and stuck them on the sticks. We got voter registration cards. As people were coming into the area for fireworks we handed kids balloons and flags. While passing out the flags and balloons I asked their parents if they were registered to vote. If they said no. I handed them a registration form and then a Ron Paul flyer. If they said yes... I said, "Have you heard of Ron Paul?" Most people said no. I said, "I have never campaigned or donated to a campaign and here I am standing in the rain. I'm a Republican and that's my little brother over there... and he's a Democrat. Seriously, we can't talk politics at Thanksgiving and look at both of us... we are drenched and spent our own money for this stuff and agree that Ron Paul is who we want for our next president. It takes a pretty amazing person to inspire that! Check him out."

Kids all over the place had balloons that said Ron Paul Many people were interested in what we had to say. I only had one guy give me back my flyer when I said Dr. Paul is against the war. Another guy was not happy that he wants to pull us out of Iraq. I got to talking to him about the borders. He was really fired up about the borders so I mentioned the North American Union and before he casts a vote do a quick search on the CFR and find out how in danger our independence is.

We killed the helium tank and passed out hundreds of balloons, lots of voter registration cards and Ron Paul flyers...and had a great sense of accomplishment. A gloomy day that I thought was going to be a bummer ended up really making an impact. I am wiped out... but man I feel good. Thanks to Paul... the head of the Clearwater meetup group who helped me get some shirts and yard signs!

There were Ron Paul people at the Kansas (the band) concert throughout the day. It was held at Cooper River Park, in New Jersey across the river from Philadelphia. There were plenty of people looking at my and my friend's Ron Paul rEVOLution signs and asking. I showed up at around 6 and we got rained out at 9. There were other people from the Cherry Hill meetup there earlier in the day who had left by the evening. We got a lot of positive responses and quite a few people knew what was up and called out from the crowd. Also, there were a lot of drunken idiots who only had negative comments such as "Ron Paul is an asshole." (The few who did this were all drunk and I'm sure they had have no clue what they're actually talking about--just belligerent bafoons. I guess grassroots political action makes these people feel aggressed against. Not to worry about these types of people, though, they don't vote. Overall a great time and I am attributing at least 10 new Ron Paul youtube views to myself tonight :)

Me and 2 others put up 5 freeway signs and stapled 30+ 11x14 revolution signs at busy intersections in Oakland County, Michigan. I didn't get any pictures. I forgot my camera, it was early.

as i said before OKC held a "motorcade with bunches of cars heres a post from our OK forum

originally posted by orat: It was great! We got a very surprisingly large number of honks, vigorous nods, thumbs up, etc. We were proceeding with our hazard lights flashing, and at one point, we had a van honk at us, and then he turned his hazards on and joined our motorcade!

Another time, when we came to a stop at an intersection, another car came by and gave one of our members their card.

It was a great experience not only because we were helping make people aware of Ron Paul, but also because we got a lot of encouragement by other people on the road. It helps when you realize there are lots of people out there who support Ron Paul who aren't members of our online groups, don't come to meetings, etc. It is also a great experience just to know you are doing something for the cause, and to have the camaraderie of fellow Paul supporters in that effort.

Channel 4 taped us driving by their studios, so be watching the news tonight.

My fiance and I drove almost 2 hours away to Fredericksburg, TX to ride a float in their 4th of July parade for Ron Paul. Volunteers walked along the side of the float passing out information packets...I think they had about 100 envelopes and by the end of the parade they had run out. And they were making sure to only give to people who were truly interested...not just putting it in people's hands.

Guess how many other candidates had a float in the parade?
