Campaign store purchase counts as Donation?

Can someone confirm that purchases from the campaign store count toward donations? We have conflicting views from our meetup. I want to make sure my money spent toward slim jims will count toward the total.

They do NOT count for today though! I emailed HQ about this. It WILL count as a donation, but NOT for today!!!
