Rep. Max Rose (D-Staten Island/Brooklyn) slammed the idea Thursday afternoon.

“Are you out of your mind? Cancel this immediately,” Rose wrote on Twitter.


New York City Emergency Management confirmed the flyover is being conducted by the military but did not have more details, referring the Advance/SILive.com to the Federal Aviation Administration, who then referred a reporter to the Navy press office. The Navy has not yet responded for additional details concerning the operation.

The office of Mayor Bill de Blasio said, “The mayor wasn’t aware of the flyover, and frankly it’s inappropriate.”

American's aren't exposed enough to the smell of napalm anymore. The sound of a jet engine and JP-8 (or maybe JP-5) exhaust fumes make for a poor substitute.

Of course, everyone here on RPF remembers the mayor's outrage with the Glorious One, President Obama, when he ordered the flyover of, not a single F-18, but the entirety of the USAF Thunderbirds in 2016. It is also widely understood that the support expressed by candidate-Clinton of The Mayor over the Glorious One, ended up costing her the electoral votes of New York state in the 2016 Presidential election.
