Powerful NATO Eastern flank move:

More US Troops heading to Poland
Wednesday, June 24
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump welcomed Poland’s president to the White House on Wednesday, with a U.S. decision to send more American troops to Poland to bolster NATO’s eastern flank against Russian aggression at the top of the leaders’ agenda.

Even before Andrzej Duda arrived, the U.S. ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, told TVN24 in Poland that the U.S. will send another 1,000 troops to Poland — over and above the 1,000 declared last year. B

But she said they might not necessarily be transferred from Germany, where Trump is planning to withdraw about 10,000 U.S. troops.

Global policing needs adjustments/movements from time to time.
Planning if being timed for a Nov 2020 election month headline may or may not mterialize, though hopefully it will as MAGA is known to keep his word.

What matters is the overall size of the military and its budget, not where units are deployed at any given moment.

He could bring all troops home from Europe, park them in Texas, and nothing much would change.

...we have these things called airplanes, which allow us to rapidly redeploy forces: say, from Texas to Europe.

If you're interested in non-interventionism, focus on the DoD budget; the rest is noise.

Trump also confirmed that the US would “probably” going to be sending troops to Poland from Germany, noting that the number of US military personnel in Germany would reduce from 52,000 to 25,000, as previously reported . “Some will be coming home, some will be going to other places in Europe. Poland will be one of the places," he said. He added that Poland would be paying for the troops to be stationed there, while he also praised Poland for the purchase of 32 F35 fighter jets.

Its a marginal improvement over pumping up the local economies of Germany which pay very little for their own defense and refuse to spend more while opposing the US diplomatically most of the time not to mention their bullying of their EU client states. Poland is one of the main countries that the EU seems most keen on forcing to heel when it comes to things like mass migration and refugees.

Most are coming home, only some are going to Poland to keep his Congressional allies.
Eventually they will probably all come home.

This is where MAGA shines. Since there are no major threats from Canada and Mexico, Germany is stable and global policing/interventions are somethingg his top donors are very opposed to, one the first things he did was to cut military spending to put Peace and Proseprity first.
GOPA funded leader in a long time is probably the first leader who has not played very well informed base like a fiddle.

That said, credit should be given that beyond preparing ground for further escalations ( sanctions/economic warfare, dropping some of the biggest bombs in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq etc and diplomatically threatening non-team players like Sweden), he has not started any major new war. Thanks should go to his top donors too for showing great restraint so far.

^this.

Cynics who had floated good cop/bad cop theory earlier still have weak case. But do you think top donors are behind these moves?
