it kind of pisses me off that people aren't waiting until the tea party. What's so hard about doing it on the right day? Many of us have spent a lot of time and effort in trying to get the word out about the 16th, yet some people are undermining the purpose of it all by going all in today. I hope it's a sudden influx of brand new supports, and not the grass roots people because that would spoil the tea party.

I saw someone post a date of Dec 15th on youtube...it could be an accident or maybe even a deliberate misinformation campaign.

I wish it could be controlled, but what can we do except get the correct info out to the public?

Ron just sent out an email today, usually people get inspired to donate after reading that.

I doubt the people donating today even know about teaparty07

If you think the $50,000 or even up to $100,000 that could potentially be raised today is going to "spoil" the amount raised tomorrow, then you must not have high hopes for the amount that is going to be raised.

I was thinking the same thing. I went to the website just to check out the donations. It's still under $11.5M.

That's not even a drop compared to what we're going to raise tomorrow. :D

I like to think it's a tick up from the PBS special and the Mad Money appearance. Some of it might be linked to a couple incorrect notices about 12/15, but I think anyone with the intention to follow through with the donation on 12/15 would probably be dedicated enough to KNOW the right day by now.

I think this is probably totally new support. Besides, all the better -- the sooner we break the goal for the quarter the better.

actually if we go into teaparty with 11.5 million thats a good thing.

Easier to see how much we raised cause it's a nice, rounded off number? I hate dealing with decimal places myself :).

We're less than one maxed donor away from 11.5M now. :)

MAXIMUM, this will probably take away 5%. That's assuming today we raise 100K and tomorrow we raise 2 mil. Optimistically that % could be as low as 1% if we raise 10 mil.

It won't be that big of a deal...

Does ronpaulgraphs.com have a chart for NEW donors? All the ones I can find just show total donors.

I think new donors would be a great way of tracking new interest in the campaign.

Don't forget the Mad Money interview was yesterday. That guy has a lot of viewers (even on Friday) and I bet it was the first time many of those viewers ever heard of RP. Plus, what a great interview!

Could it have been the campaign dumping in offlines like Nov 5th. ???

If we hit 12 million before the day even started that would be cool with me.

Greetings All,

The the more money the sooner the better. I bet the other campaigns don't have people worrying about premature donations!

Yes, it's possible. But the last time it was one huge amount, it didn't trickle in.

This could be good. The best I can remember, the upswing started just a little before midnight Nov. 5. Today we started around noon.

these donations could easily be from new donors who don't know about the tea party. some are donating because today is the bill of rights day. whatever the reason, all cash infusion is welcomed.

Good to know. Probably a lot of these have no idea about the Tea Party and it isn't a case of premature e-cash donation.

DUH! There are American ex-pats all over the world and in Australia, as I write this, it's after 7 am Sunday morning, December 16th! So....people may not be jumping the gun, just getting an early start on "their" Sunday morning.

And in any case, who cares? Money is money whether it comes before 12 midnight EST or otherwise. I think the money coming in on this Tea Party is going to blow everybody away, even us Ron Paul supporters.

I think 10+ are realistic.

Around: 31000 pledges
210000 visitors of the Tea Party hompage
80000 Ron Paul meet up members

I'm sitting hear in Germany and can already hear the whistling of the falling money bomb :D

I can't help it. I'm just sitting here flipping between Ron Paul sites. It's not even the 16th yet.

about this post:
1) There were two shows on about Dr Paul yesterday
2)The blimp coverage the day before. Not to mention the blimp flying around all by itself, drawing attention.
3)The few who WERE trying to get the "entire weekend bomb".
4)Possible confusion with the kucinich money bomb.
5)Date confusion
6)early foriegn donators already in Sunday.

I was hoping we would beat the 12 mil before the money bomb. The media said 12 mil was unattainable for a candidate like Paul to achieve in one quarter. If the bomb dropped right after this was attained, they'd all look like fools, all over youtube. I could see the line: Paul hits 12 mil for the quarter. THEN the next day: Paul achieves 12 mil more in 1 day.
