It just sunk in this morning - We could realistically hit $8.5M tomorrow. Not only would that shatter the Kerry/Hill/Obama one-day record, but it would put the campaign up to $20M already for the quarter.
That would likely make Ron the TOP fundraiser for either party for the fourth quarter. Another point to sell Ron to die-hard Republicans - He's the only Rep candidate able to outspend Hillary. :)

They've just said they intend to "spend every penny."

Ergo, unless Hillary wants to go into debt fighting Ron, it's the same either way, I believe.

Hell, we only need some $6.5 million, considering we'd probably pick up the remainder from the rest of the month anyway.

But 8.5M tomorrow will get us to $20M for the quarter to add to the Tea Party stories. :D

We won't be #1 for the quarter, Romney will. I read somewhere here Romney cut his campaign a check for 17mil, that doesn't include what he actually raises.

We'll be #1 in fundraising. Yes, Mitt has some deep pockets, but people will notice how many active supporters Ron has.

If we get 20 mil total for the quarter, i'll be happy.

I doubt it. That would be about 1/10th of his total wealth (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18619954/). Plus with the 8M he already threw in, that would be 25M out of a total of aroun 200M. I really don't think he'd spend 1/8th of all the money he has on his campaign.

Except any money he gives to his own campaign will probably be in the form of a "loan" (like he did in previous quarters). Granted, he can simply forgive those loans to himself, but they don't count as fundraising dollars.
