The process is actually fairly straightforward. If Biden quits the race right before the convention, delegates would select a new nominee. If he drops out right after the convention, members of the Democratic National Committee would pick their replacement candidate.

Who might be in consideration to become the new nominee — and who would be selected as the vice presidential running mate? Several likely combinations come to mind, starting in many minds with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, but one particular, truly out-of-the-box combination stops the discussion in its tracks: Hillary Clinton as the nominee and Barack Obama as her running mate.

A Northern California woman who has alleged that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden sexually assaulted her in 1993 says that Biden should “stand up” and “step down” from the 2020 race.

Tara Reade, a former staffer of then-Sen. Biden, made the comments to The San Luis Obispo Tribune after Biden addressed the accusations publicly on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

I'm surprised there wasn't an Clinton/Obama ticket in 08. Democrats could have easily had 16 years of total control.

I think what they should ask themselves is if the nation is ready for yet another saga of sexual abuse allegations scandal like we had to endure with Trump and Kavanaugh. This time with Biden (who they picked) but at least two women so far, Tara and Eva. More to come I'm sure. Does the public really want to go through that all over again? Or, do they pull the lever, hold your nose, vote for Trump knowing that at least that part of his saga is over?

I'm surprised that few in this nation know that Barry O IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE VICE PRESIDENT PER THE 12TH AMENDMENT.

Can a former President run for Vice President?

The 22nd Amendment states that no one can be elected to the office of president more than twice. The keyword here is "elected." If Obama were the VP and something happened to the sitting President, Obama could serve as President without being elected.

On the flip side, part of the 12th Amendment states that "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of president shall be eligible to that of vice president of the United States."

We talked with political experts at UNCG. They said the 12th amendment takes the guesswork out of it, and the answer is no. President Obama, or any other former president, would not be able to be vice president.

Same thing. The VP is elected on the ticket. VP must be eligible to serve at any time.
Hence, a person forbidden to be President cannot run for VP.

Biden is not dropping out.

Barack might not be able to be VP, but that doesn't mean Michelle can't.
