What Trump has been saying, nuanced approach. Vulnerable should shelter, younger should keep working. No collapse of economy over relatively small vulnerable segment of population

Coronavirus: survey reveals what Swedish people really think of country's relaxed approach

While other countries have closed businesses, much remains up and running in Sweden, including cafes and bars. People are advised to limit their movements but not required to stay at home.

..................

Those aged 50 and above – those with elevated risk for severe complications from an infection – are most supportive of the Swedish response. While 40% of 15-29 year olds state that the Swedish response has been sufficient, the corresponding figure is 61% for those above 70.

"Vulnerable should shelter, younger should keep working. No collapse of economy over relatively small vulnerable segment of population"

Yeah, that sounds fine.

But it seems like the point is - government shouldn't be ordering businesses to shut down.

Maybe the vulnerable shelter, maybe they don't. Maybe the younger keep working, maybe they don't.

But the government shouldn't be declaring that certain types of businesses are unnecessary, and force them to close.

OT - they're finding, that when everyone gets tested - in a place like a prison or jail - of the people who have covid, 95% are asymptomatic, meaning, no symptoms, they have it, and they don't know that they have it. When you read the stories about that, they make a point to say this is a terrible thing, it means that it will spread. But, like usual, they're completely missing the point. It seems like this covid is NOT SERIOUS. If 19 out of the 20 people who get the covid don't even know about it, why exactly are we so very worried about it? Additionally, it seems like any plan that revolves around pushing people around so that they don't get this covid - which 95% won't know if they even have it - is a terrible plan.

The entire point of this whole stay at home plan was that hospitals would just get overwhelmed. Well, people are not going to go to the hospital if they don't know they have the covid. And if people don't go to the hospitals, the hospitals will not get overwhelmed. And if the hospitals are not overwhelmed, there is no reason to restrict the choices of people.

Sweden already free...herd immunity, death per million not much different than US.
