It seems that tons of people on both democrats and republicans are a little bit upset about Bush's decision to step in and save Libby from serving any jail time for his actions. Fred Thompson already came out and said that he respected the president's decision but one thing that hasn't been mentioned is that Ron Paul said in the MSNBC debate that he would not grant a pardon to Libby. I think we should all take this chance to spread this video of the debate to the media and point out what his stance on the issue was. Hopefully he can get a short writeup in an article or maybe even a tv interview or two regarding the matter. This is the debate video I am talking about: http://youtube.com/watch?v=peBGJwE9NXo

Here is the email I have sent out, so far its gone to several hosts at many local news stations as well as cnn/cnbc/msnbc/fox/txcn (texas news channel)

As a long life republican I am outraged at the decision president Bush has made in regards to the Scooter Libby matter but what makes me sick is that only 1 of the GOP presidential candidates has stated that he would not grant Libby with a pardon and that was Ron Paul as indicated in the MSNBC debate which is located here http://youtube.com/watch?v=peBGJwE9NXo .

Don't copy it word for word because they will just assume its from 1 person, one branch of the media that I think has been ignored by us but still very powerful is the local news stations. They don't have the same strict time constraints as the national media outlets and will air anything they consider "interesting" even if they knew most of their viewers would be against it. The key is to not just send in the emails to the email address of the whole station but directly to the news anchors/reporters.

You also might find useful this article that Ron Paul has written in Nov, 2005 about Libby:

November 5, 2005
Big Lies and Little Lies

http://www.antiwar.com/paul/?articleid=7920

The lies Scooter Libby may or may not have told deserve a thorough investigation. But in the scheme of things, the indictment about questions regarding the release of Valerie Plame's name, a political dirty trick, is minor compared to the disinformation about weapons of mass destruction and other events that propelled us into an unnecessary war. Its costs – in life, suffering, and money – have proven to be prohibitive.

The Libby indictment, unless it opens the door to more profound questions concerning why we went to war, may serve only as a distraction from much more serious events and lies.

Something else to see here is; no Dem would probably pardon him, but the neocon repubes would. Dr. Paul would not, so maybe....just maybe they are taking pre-emptive action now....because they are starting to think hey....."we are going to lose this election, be it to the Dems or Paul"
