Three rockets hit US Embassy compound in Baghdad, US official says

(CNN)Three rockets struck the US Embassy compound in Baghdad on Sunday, leaving one person injured, a US official told CNN initial reports indicate.

The official said the injury was minor and the individual had since returned to duty.
A State Department spokesperson said Sunday evening that they "are aware of reports of rockets landing in the International Zone," but did not address the US embassy itself. The State Department did not respond to a query as to whether any embassy employees were injured.
"We call on the Government of Iraq to fulfill its obligations to protect our diplomatic facilities," the spokesperson said.

If Hezbollah takes credit and admits that they did this and Hezbollah says Iran funds and trains Hezbollah and Iran doesn't deny this and admits that they do how is this any different than Iran shooting rockets at and hitting a US embassy?

Our closest ally was fighting against them in Lebanon earlier, not clear if they are fighting them in Iraq too. Though there were reports of Israeli military strikes in Iraq earlier.

People fighting overseas or in wars develop brain injuries. Its a good thing with Trump in office people are finally taking them seriously.

In 2013, Obama had ignored such calls by one of the most respected Israel lobby donors in US Politics. He happens to be top donor of MAGA movement now but such drastic measures are still very unlikely. Before 1940s nuke attacks, Japan had threatened US homeland but Iran seems to be a major threat to Israel mostly. People like Pat Buchanan would also be a big hurdle in launch of a major US war against Iran.

Vast majority of Americans also have forever wars fatigue and want end of foreign occupations and troops to be brought home.
