I was wondering if anyone knew where I could see a complete list of everything that is taxed. I've spent the last 15 min looking with no success.

Thanks

After reading your post, I spent about the same amount of time trying to think of a list of things that are NOT taxed. So far, I haven't come up with anything. Even if you do manage to think of something the government doesn't have its mitts into, I recommend this approach as it's likely to yield a shorter list.

A while back I saw an article on rense.com that listed a monsterous number of taxes we all pay on a regular basis.... if you could dig that up and then add to it whatever you can find from other sources like wikipedia, you can prolly come up with a list that will astound most people. Sorry no link, my bookmarks are impossible to wade through :(

COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. The phrase "making the perfect the enemy of the good" comes to mind. In a word, Utopianism.

Are we referring to taxpayers? Or nontaxpayers? U.S. citizens or state Citizens?

Depending on which category you're in determines whether you pay an individual federal income tax or not.

Of course, there's all the OTHER taxes too which a lot of both the groups pay.

Some may find these two links interesting:

PS: Thanks Kuldebar for posting that list!
