More refugees must be resettled across the United States to fill a “void of cultural diversity” in towns that are made up of a majority of white Americans, a New York Times report states.

As President Trump is set to lower refugee admissions for the third year, keeping his 2o16 campaign promise to significantly reform the program after almost four decades, the New York Times published a report this week detailing how Congolese refugees already living in the U.S. are looking to bring their foreign relatives to the country through the refugee resettlement program.

Those who support expanding refugee resettlement, the New York Times reports, say doing so is necessary for bringing “cultural diversity” to majority-white American towns like Missoula, Montana, which is more than 89 percent white and three percent Hispanic.

To supporters like Mr. Engen, the Congolese are filling a void of cultural diversity in a town that is nearly 90 percent white. In the 1980s, Hmong refugees from Laos settled in Missoula. The children of immigrant families are usually the few students of color in city classrooms, while their parents work long hours at businesses eager for the help. [Emphasis added]

The New York Times has previously claimed that “nearly all white” states like New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine pose “an array of problems for new arrivals” to the U.S., as Breitbart News noted.

As Breitbart News has reported, the U.S. has permanently resettled more than 1.7 million foreign nationals and refugees through a variety of humanitarian programs — a foreign population larger than the size of Philadelphia, which has 1.5 million residents.

These 1.7 million foreign nationals and refugees do not include the roughly 445,000 foreign nationals who have been allowed to remain in the U.S. through the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program.

Refugee resettlement costs American taxpayers nearly $9 billion every five years, according to the latest research. Over the course of five years, an estimated 16 percent of all refugees admitted will need housing assistance paid for by taxpayers.

By "built-in" they mean an ethnically foreign population that has brought all the problems with it's culture with them. The "built-in" community is white, conservative. It advocates carving out a swath for immigrants to congregate, continue practicing their failed traditions, and suplant the "built-in" community.
Many a church have sponsored immigrants. They have provided "comfort and support" in the community.
This is just government genocide of white, conservatives. Admitted up front.

It's interesting that the article mentions the Hmong. They have settled in our area since the late 70's. Have risen in size to a little less than 3% of the total population. The young leave our area, for a 4-year college education, and are replaced by the older from more metropolitan areas. They are, for the most part, Catholic. And, yes, as people of like culture they tend to congregate in the same community. A low end community that they have transformed. But, they have assimilated.
I've watched the movie Gran Torino and it portrays a Hmong community that is dealing with youth and gangs.
We don't have that here. I've yet to meet a Hmong youth that is not respectful and enterprising. I've not met one that is not an ardent supporter of the second amendment. The youth say they learned the important lesson of owning firearms from their grandparents.
But, they are a small percentage of the population. And all sponsored through their relationship with the Catholic church.
Drop 10 or 15% of immigrants into the mix, throw them into a ghetto, and it becomes something entirely different.

As I mentioned the Hmong (and other Asians make up about 3% of the county population.) On the other hand Hispanic/Latinos make up about 11%.
There was once a magical place called Wilson's Creek. Particularly the lower portion where the creek was accessible spanned miles. Cool air and colder waters in the searing heat of August. Stocked by the state department. Many local families used to go to cool off, fish and grill. They would respect the place, the beauty of it's nature. Pack it in, pack it out.
Now the locals have been displaced by Hispanics. They do not pay attention to parking areas and end up blocking the narrow gravel road. The Sheriff's office has to dedicate officers for the sole purpose of maintaining an unimpeded road. They do not "pack it in, pack it out." Instead leaving all their trash strewn riverside. Including old grills no longer serviceable. Beer cans and worse broken bottles. Oh, let's not forget soiled diapers. God forbid, they place them in a bag and take them home with them. So entirely desecrating the area locals had to start a go fund me so they could clean up the mess after the fucking wetbacks bug out.
They'd be better served with a go fund me for bullets instead of trash bags.

Then there's "refugees" that slick politicians don't count as immigrants...

I don't believe Trump has done anything to reduce the 'refugees', 'foreign worker' or any other slick foot-in-the-door government controlled migration.

He has slowed the beeners down a bit but he's making up for it with plane and boat loads.

The president also announced major changes to the way the refugee program runs, creating a set-aside of 5,000 slots for refugees fleeing religious persecution, 4,000 for Iraqis and 1,500 for key Central American partner countries. Those all count against the 18,000 cap.
The number, which the administration had signaled in late September but was made official by Trump (https://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/donald-trump/)’s determination, has been criticized by both Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill, who said the U.S. has an obligation to accept more refugees.
Administration officials, though, argue that the U.S. already has a massive asylum backlog that it needs to work through. Refugees are those who are awarded humanitarian protections while they are outside the U.S. Asylees are those who make it to U.S. soil and then request protection from their home countries.
But Homeland Security officials say the same adjudicators work both types of cases, and they have been overwhelmed by the surge of asylum-seekers at the border, so cutting the number of refugee cases is justified in order to give the officers a chance to eat into the backlog.
“The admission of up to 18,000 refugees to the United States during Fiscal Year 2020 is justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest,” Mr. Trump (https://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/donald-trump/) said in announcing the new number.
At 18,000, the cap is 12,000 lower than Mr. Trump (https://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/donald-trump/) set for fiscal year 2019, and it’s a major reduction from the 110,000 refugee target the Obama administration tried to set for 2017.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The second-largest city in Maine, home to thousands of African newcomers, has elected a Somali American to its city council following a campaign that was marred by racists attacks and threats fueled by social media.

Safiya Khalid, 23, soundly defeated a fellow Democrat on Tuesday for a seat on the Lewiston City Council.

Shrugging off attacks on her skin color and faith, Khalid declared that “community organizers beat internet trolls.”

The attacks didn’t seem to faze voters. Khalid won with nearly 70% of the vote to make history in the former mill city.

“I worked really hard. I knocked on thousands of doors. That’s what paid off,” Khalid told The Associated Press in an interview Tuesday.

Maine is the nation’s whitest state, but it is home to a growing population of Africans who’ve fled their homeland.

First- and second-generation candidates from four African countries — Somalia, Congo, Ghana and Nigeria — won seats on city councils and school committees across the state, continuing an established trend, said Mufalo Chitam, executive director of the Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition.

“There’s been a push for us to have bigger representation in office in the towns,” she said. “That’s where the decisions are made. If we’re not in those offices, then someone is going to make the decisions for us.”

In Lewiston, ugly hateful messages, mostly from out of state, targeted Khalid. Someone said she should be stoned. Another shared her home address on a Facebook group. Some of the attacks drove her to tears.

Opponents spread a photo of her when she was a 15-year-old high school freshman flipping off the camera. The photo taken by a friend.

“I was a child,” she said. “I was 15. I didn’t know any better.”

Khalid deleted the Facebook app from her cellphone and deactivated her Twitter account. Then she focused on continuing to knock on doors in her ward whenever she wasn’t at her job as a caseworker.

Mainers generally don’t like outsiders meddling in their affairs, so the out-of-state social media trolling could’ve backfired to a certain extent, Lewiston voter Amber St. Onge said.

“A teenager pointing a middle finger is not a big scandal,” added Abdifatah Afrah, of Lewiston. “That’s nothing compared to what we see in the news with politicians every day.”

Somalis began moving to Lewiston two decades ago in search of affordable housing after many settled in Portland, 36 miles (58 kilometers) away. The city of 36,000, second in population in Maine only to Portland, is now home to more than 5,000 Africans.

Khalid was born in Somalia and remembers living in a refugee camp before coming to the United States.

As a city councilor, she wants to ensure that there’s affordable housing that’s free from lead contamination, which is a problem in the city’s older housing stock. She wants to boost aging infrastructure, bring in investment, and support local businesses. She also wants to boost schools.

“When I came here, I didn’t know how to write my name or speak any word of English. I am who I am because of public education. Our children deserve the highest-quality education,” she said.

Lewiston Mayor Kristen Cloutier said she was impressed by the poise showed by the young politician to ensure people in her community are represented and have a seat at the table.

Khalid will be the youngest person on the council in January.

“If those (messages) had been directed at me, I would’ve been hiding under my bed,” Cloutier said. “I don’t know that I would’ve had the courage to fight another day. That speaks to her resiliency and her dedication.”
