The Situation Room ACTUALLY showed the poll of Ron Paul at 11% in South Carolina! It was a piece on Huckabee but nevertheless they actually showed his name at 11%!

Most of the canidates are in th 11% to 17% range. Huckabee had 23%. The margin for error, which I think no one takes into account, is +or- 4%. That makes it a really close race for second place.

Chris Matthews left his name off the list, but at least he did the same to McCain.

Still, margin of error (and I think the error is that the polls understate our support) + turnout (we'll beat the rest by a statistically significant margin) = we're in second place if we extrapolate that poll to the actual primary. Nice. :)

Looks like it's pretty much wide open with no one above 23%. Since Ron Paul will likely have a much greater percentage of his supporters actually vote than the other candidates, it would not be at all surprising to see him win the state.

Yeah, if everyone else gets X% turnout and Paul gets double that (maybe even less if he's the most underestimated by traditional polling), he'd be in first if we go by this poll.
