I thought it was a group of men during the late 18th century. Hmm, I guess you learn something new everyday.

I like Alex Jones.

Sometimes he's over the top with his angry rants.

Tea Party was just the logical choice timing-wise and symbolism-wise. It was a group endeavor.

No, i think it was a kid on youtube. He had a video suggesting that we do this again on the 16th because its the teaparty, and this video came out in the twilight of novermber 5th.

REGARDLESS

It does not matter Who came up with it. Who gives a crap? We should focus on the idea, the message, not its specific manifestations right now.

well, I just wanted to point out that he is a large asset to this movement and I'm sick of the sheople snarling about him because they're not yet cured of their apathy. Additionally it was him who had the idea.

He originally said the 15th sign bomb for the Bill of Rights day.

The 16th for the Boston tea Party.

Trevor agreed.

I believe it was Nathaniel Yao from these forums who came up with the Ron Paul Tea Party Idea. I've certainly seen that repeated elsehwere. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me.

Here's the first post Nath made about the TeaParty. Doesn't look like it was his original idea but he was the first to reserve the TeaParty07 website.

Actually many people were discussing this idea before Trevor got a hold of it. All the way back to November 5th many people were discussing the idea of Dec16th for the next fund raiser.
Do a forum search.

What day was that? The first I heard someone mention it was Man from La Manchaon on November 5th in this thread (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=31983&highlight=december).

I suggested an event on Dec. 16 in Boston back in August:

But I don't think the current event was based on anyone reading my suggestion...but at least great minds think alike! :D

I think there is no question Dec16th was an outstanding date.:)

That was the same day I suggested Philly as the location of the big rally...my brain was on overdrive that day it seems! I should start reading up on US history to come up with another date/place for our next event...

Alex didn't come up with the idea. On his first interview with Trevor after the November 5th moneybomb, Alex asked Trevor when he was going to have the next money bomb, and Trevor answered that he was shooting for Bill of Rights Day and Boston Tea Party day.
Alex, who is great, has been trying to push that this event be held over those 2 days to build momentum, but he and Trevor conceded in later interviews that the people basically decided TeaParty day would be best. Plus I think Trevor only wanted that day as well since all his advertising was only for Teaparty day. So kudos should go to Trevor, and whoever he works with, on getting the ball moving with the Teaparty date.

And kudos to Alex Jones for constantly pushing the date to his listeners.

Do a forum search.

Also do a forum search and you will see that there were polls done to see if we should do TeaParty over another date. I don't know who the first person was to mention it, but I think it was a group consensus that Tea Party was "the day."

Correct, Trevor brought it up to Alex Jones on his radio show after the 5th, and Alex pimped it hard thereafter.

People were mentioning this idea on this forum even before the November 5th event. Somebody mentioned it as early as August I believe.

You can do a Google search using:

It was neither Alex Jones nor Trevor.

I think rather then fueling ego's and trying to be the media whore that this should be the consensus statement on teaparty07:

"The grassroots movement of hundreds of thousand people came together to support Ron Paul by having this event"

Think about it, without the dozens if not hundreds of youtube videos, without people promoting this over social networks, blogs, and offline signs, and most important without the thousands of donatators tomorrow this would just be another tea party anniversary So in my opinion this event had to have all of us, not just one to make this happen.

See the links below for the confirmation of how the idea took shape. I agree wholeheartedly with the previous poster that we of course want to give credit to the whole grassroots, many of whom have contributed to the tea party, but we should be sure to give a nice tip of the hat to Nathaniel, who got things going.

I was riding these forums all day on the 5th and I think once we got into early morning 6th there were 100's of threads brainstorming the next bomb. People tossed out the 15th, bill of rights day and the 16th, Talk went from a donation weekend to a weekend of action with a donation day. WE all have made this money bomb. Hell 'MoneyBomb' has become a political catch phrase, I hear other campaigns using it and the Media references it all the time. I can't wait till an election 50 years from now when the term is still used and I can look at my grandkids and say I helped light the first fuse

Nefertiti came up with the idea first, sorta like how divinci came up with the idea of the tank.

LOL, like Da Vinci, I had the idea long before its time, long before the means to make it reality had come into existence. I don't really think I deserve credit for being the catalyst of the teaparty07 though, but I do think the idea occurred to me long before it occurred to anyone else.

Da Vinci actually came up with A LOT of ideas long before they became reality. There was a really neat exhibition about his ideas here in Chicago last year, complete with models of the ideas he dreamed up. Let's just hope that Ron Paul is not simply the Da Vinci of today.
