Does not seem like he's very bright. That said, those who call him 'Uncle Tom' cross the line, criticism should be without using such divisive labels.
Tried to look it up if he ever compared any American soldier to Mandela but so far did not find such a news report.

Cory Booker likened Gilad Shalit to Nelson Mandela

Nearly half of Americans are cynical about politicians’ use of Israel, according to a new poll. (https://www.businessinsider.com/american-jews-believe-israel-used-political-tool-us-politics-2019-9)“Around 28%… believed that ‘political figures often invoke Israel as a political tool more than genuine concern for the state,'” while another 18 percent believed that the politicians don’t “actually care about Israel at all, and strictly use it as a political tool.”
A 2012 speech by New Jersey Senator Cory Booker was lately published that might fulfill those skeptical attitudes, due to its over-the-top embrace of Israeli soldiers as “the most courageous men imaginable.”
Shabtai, a Jewish leadership group at Yale that Booker co-founded when he was a law student in New Haven, last month released a video (https://vimeo.com/357272468) of Booker at Shabtai in 2012, greeting Gilad Shalit, the former Israeli soldier/prisoner.
Shalit was captured by Hamas in 2005 and held for five years till he was released in a prisoner exchange. A year later, the 26-year-old came to the New Haven gathering with former members of his military unit.
Booker, who is on the right side of the Democratic field in his full-throated support for Israel, likened Shalit to Nelson Mandela, who was imprisoned for 27 years in South Africa.

Well, Nelson Mandela was part of a murderous leftist organization bent on exterminating its racial enemies.

So that doesn't seem altogether inappropriate.

If that was the case, why do you think current top leadership of GOP-Adelson wing/MAGA helped Mandela? Or you see MAGA also as an extreme leftist?

Trump Takes Mandela Under His Wing

By TRACY WILKINSON June 25, 1990
TIMES STAFF WRITER

After feverish and failed negotiations with everyone from the U.S. government to private charter operators, the unlikely benefactor has turned out to be none other than Donald Trump.
Mandela and the approximately 80 people traveling with him arrived here Sunday in a Trump Shuttle 727 and will take the same plane on the rest of the tour, which ends in Los Angeles and Oakland late this week. The Trump shuttle also carried Mandela from New York to Boston on Saturday.
Christine Dolan, who handled logistics for the trip, said that organizers, desperate to find a plane in time for Mandela’s arrival in the United States last Wednesday, contacted Trump seeking to rent his private jet. He responded that it was being serviced and unavailable but offered to release a 727 from his shuttle fleet, Dolan said.
“The Mandela Welcoming Committee is very thankful to Donald Trump,” Dolan said.
