The Trump administration is weighing a policy proposal (https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/trump-admin-weighs-letting-states-cities-deny-entry-refugees-approved-n1044801) that would protect state and local jurisdictions from being forced to accept potentially dangerous third-world refugees.
The administration is considering whether or not to allow state and local jurisdictions to deny refugees that have been approved for resettlement into the United States through the scandal-ridden globalist program.
A draft for the initial program states that “the federal government will resettle refugees only where both the relevant state and local governments have consented to participate.” Trump is expected to announce these changes via executive order in the upcoming days.

Peter Boogaard, a federal immigration bureaucrat who worked under former President Barack Obama, believes the proposed policy would “have a dramatic impact on the ability of future administrations to return refugee admissions to the normal historic levels.”
Trump has already drastically decreased the amount of refugees who are being let into the country. The number is capped at 30,000 for fiscal year 2019, down from 85,000 in fiscal year 2016. The administration wants to drive that number down further, and groups that are on the federal dole to resettle refugees are crying foul that their gravy train is drying up.

Good.

I do not support any "public" immigration policy, just as I do not support any "public" education policy.

Ideally, all such issues should be a matter of "private" policy.

But as long as there are such things as "public" property and "public" schools, whatever "public" policies there are regarding those things should be as granular and "local" as possible.

ETA: And so long as we live under conditions of mass democracy in a population of a third of a billion people, there will not ever be "One Policy to Rule Them All" that will not result in profound social division, with all its attendant ills - whipsaw vying over the reins of power, intensifying socio-political disharmony, increasingly regnant socialism or fascism (or, much more likely, a nasty farrago of both), constant autistic screeching, et cetera ad infinitum et nauseam.

Since he frequently contradicts himself his statements can't be trusted at all, you have to watch his actions to even guess about his positions or plans.

If Somalia is considered 'third world', then it looks contradictory that he threatened government of a First-World nation for quick return to US of son of a Somali refugee woman.

As for "potentially dangerous" part, MAGA's bold action for quick release of Rakim suggest he does believe in second chances:

A$AP Rocky sold marijuana and crack[19] while moving around homeless shelters with his mother and sister.[20] At the age of 15, he was selling crack in the Bronx.[15] After living for a period in a shelter with his mother in New York City, he moved to midtown Manhattan.[9] In 2004, Mayers served two weeks in Rikers Island for drug dealing, where he shared a cell with future rapper Casanova.[21]
