Anti-War Democratic Candidate Tulsi Gabbard Sues Google For Campaign "Interference" (https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-07-25/anti-war-democratic-candidate-tulsi-gabbard-sues-google-campaign-interference)

Progressive Democrat presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard, who has long been under fire from mainstream media and establishment voices in her own party for her vehemently anti-war and anti-interventionist stance, is suing Google, The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/25/technology/tulsi-gabbard-sues-google.html) reports, in what is said to be the first time in history a presidential candidate has sued a major technology firm.

It must be remembered that though considered a "long shot" by party insiders based on her outlier stances (for which she's been called (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/biased-nbc-gave-tulsi-gabbard-the-ron-paul-treatment-in-the-first-democratic-debate) a popular Ron Paul type unorthodox figure among the Dems), from criticizing the Democrats' 'Russiagate' fixation to calling for an end to "regime change wars" abroad to being willing to meet with Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, Google searches for her named surged across the US during last month's first round (https://www.thedailybeast.com/2020-democratic-debate-tulsi-gabbard-dominates-google-searches-across-us-during-debate) of presidential nominee debates. And now, as the Times reports, she says Google infringed on her free speech by suspending her campaign's ability to get its message out (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/25/technology/tulsi-gabbard-sues-google.html):

Tulsi Now Inc., the campaign committee for Ms. Gabbard, said Google suspended the campaign’s advertising account for six hours on June 27 and June 28, obstructing its ability to raise money and spread her message to potential voters.

Google and other major US tech companies like Facebook have faced an avalanche of scrutiny and criticism of late for censoring and/or manipulating the visibility of those with unorthodox political views.

The new lawsuit claims Google took steps to "interfere" with Gabbard's chances in the upcoming 2020 presidential election.

“Google’s arbitrary and capricious treatment of Gabbard’s campaign should raise concerns for policymakers everywhere about the company’s ability to use its dominance to impact political discourse, in a way that interferes with the upcoming 2020 presidential election,” the lawsuit stated (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/25/technology/tulsi-gabbard-sues-google.html).

Specifically the lawsuit suggests Google diverted Gabbard campaign emails to be sent to spam folders on Gmail at “a disproportionately high rate” compared to her Democratic rival candidates.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday an a Los Angeles federal court, the Times reports (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/25/technology/tulsi-gabbard-sues-google.html), and "seeks an injunction against Google from further meddling in the election and damages of at least $50 million."

Previously the Hawaii congresswoman pointed out there was a "clear bias" against her as she was given the least amount of speaking time during the first 2020 Democratic primary debate.

Tulsi is Non-Interventionist, not anti-war. Less "Progressive" than Trump, IMO.

No, she knew he was pulling troops out so she joined the Neocons to tell him not to.

She's a fraud and she has proven herself much worse than Trump.

But your job here is to get Demoncrats elected so you don't care about the truth, it get sin your way.

I guess the anti-capitalist, trust-busting GOPers will be delighted.

...or confused, since she's from the other party.

Anyway, this is a fine example of why, despite her decent foreign policy, she's a no-go.

Because giant corporations should be able to violate their contractual duty to her and their other customers to manipulate our elections?

Because she's yammering about Google violating her free speech, which, as a private enterprise, it cannot do by definition.

...just another instance of the ongoing movement to effectively extend the anti-discrimination laws and further erode property rights.

Whoever the people are behind the manipulation of the electorate are, it is clear they are pure evil.
It is about more than just wanting to take down Trump because he says bad things, they also targeted Tulsi.
They want to be back in control. It is not a mistake the anti-war candidate was targeted by Google.

I don't care about Google's "rights".

When I read first 1984, I hated Winston, and did not care about him.
I put the book down for months, I just did not care about what happened to him, or his girl.

I recently watched the 1984 movie.
I still hated winston.

I would rather be a soldier of Oceania, than be working for the ministry of Truth.

Winston worked for the party, everything that happened to him, he deserved.
Perhaps I should apply to work for the Ministry of Love.
And get assigned to teach Pinchai that 2 + 2 = 5.

Shame on Google for censoring this young woman with political aspirations. I don't plan to vote for her at all in any capacity, but I hope she wins her case to stick it to them.

Gee, kinda looks like the same bait-and-switch-the-establishment-hates-me routine that got Trump sold to the right is being used on the left for Tulsi now.

"Don't pay any attention to my history or affiliations, just remember that I must be your friend if the establishment doesn't like me!"

CFR membership means she's a puppet of the bankers.

Her history does include meeting with Bashar Al Assad.
I consider that a strong plus.

And her words on foreign policy are right, too. Could always use more candidates talking about that, the correct way. In fact, hers is better than Trump's, since Trump has always talked hard stance on Venezuela and Iran, and tried to recognize Guiado as president of Venezuela, (how embarrassing).

But, hey whatever, once you run for president, then we'll know who the REAL non-puppet candidate is.

Also, another red flag is the fact that she voted in favor of the AIPAC bill (HRes246) condemning the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

Bush and Obama also had the "right" foreign policy words when they were running too. Interestingly, Trump's foreign policy rhetoric was much harsher yet he's been the most dovish of the three. Goes to show that no matter what a Pres candidate says, believe the opposite.

Btw, I don't think she's terrible or would necessarily be a big warmonger. I just recognize that 95% of the people that run for President are on the same "team", regardless of party and are controlled by the same behind-the-scenes forces. At this point, there's not much warmongering left to do since the bankers control practically every country already.

Google receives government money and is immune from liability. So yes they can violate free speech.
