“Republican national security elite is said to be in a panic about possibility Trump would replace Bolton with anti-interventionist Col. Doug Macgregor, who would support Trump on withdrawal from Afghan and Syria wars and ending the state of war in Korea.”

I kind of hope so. Every time I see a picture of Bolton I think “one of these things is not like the others.”

It would be a great move by Trump even though the detractors will still find reason to complain.

Sending Bolton to Mongolia would seem to indicate it may happen:

John F'n Kerry would fit in well with Trump's Wahhabi team.

I would love to see Bolton get the boot. And there is nothing more that I would like to see than wars coming to an end. But things are not adding up, all of a sudden, knowing how presidents are puppets to the MIC.

Are bombs and tanks a thing of the past? Would it be more profitable to utilize technology to control people, rather than eliminate them? I have been reading up on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the 2030 stated goals of the United Nations, and while I was at it how much China is contributing to the UN, now that they have announced tearing down their wall well ahead of schedule.

President Trump likes to argue that other countries should pay more to fund international groups like NATO and the United Nations. He frequently criticizes globalism and advocates for his “America First” foreign policy agenda. Among other things, this has meant decreasing the money the U.S. spends for on the UN.

We decided to dig beneath the headlines to uncover exactly how much money different countries and continents contribute to the UN. As it turns out, the President has a good point about how much Americans contribute compared to everyone else.

He hires the best ones needed at the time. So if you need to keep your enemies closer...

Thought about all these changes as well. I've seen (admittedly toxic) office environments where managers/higher ups would have to bring in people they didn't really want due to politics/mergers/reorganizations but then they would give them visibility so they could scapegoat them and replace them with people loyal to them.

Maybe Trump is letting Bolton & Co take the heat and then will say "hey we need to change course here's this guy Macgregor waiting in the wings." There were reports that Trump considered bringing in Tulsi Gabbard into his cabinet (https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/democratic-rep-tulsi-gabbard-consideration-trump-cabinet/story?id=43696303) and she made the visit to Trump tower after Trump was elected. Keep in mind these people were not Trumps first choice: NSA was Flynn then McMaster, SecState was Tillerson. How did he wind up with Bolton and Pompeo (and SecDef Mark Esper)? Might have something to do with this:

Bolton after McMaster pushed out (https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2019/05/interests-pushing-for-hard-line-against-iran/):
"Bolton’s connections to hardliners don’t end with the committees. Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, the top individual political contributors for the 2018 midterms and major Trump donors, personally lobbied the president to select Bolton as deputy secretary of state. While this effort ultimately failed, Bolton eventually joined the administration as national security advisor- that move came after Sheldon Adelson supported publicity campaigns against Trump’s first national security advisor, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, that claimed McMaster was anti-Israeli in an effort to open the position for Bolton. Adelson is also a prominent supporter of major anti-Iranian lobbying groups, having donated more than $1.04 million to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee since 2007 and $1.5 million to the FDD between 2008 and 2011."

Pompeo after Tillerson is pushed out:
"Kushner, who has taken the lead on many of the Trump administration's priorities in the Middle East, also told the then-secretary of state that he would be in charge of negotiations involving Israel. Ward reports Kushner told Tillerson, "I want Israel," according to a former Tillerson aide."
https://www.cnn.com/2019/03/14/politics/kushner-tillerson-diplomacy-book/index.html

and

"The ZOA went further by calling on Trump to fire Tillerson, with Klein saying the secretary of state “can’t control his own department.
...
The ZOA president refused to say if he had raised the issue with Trump administration officials, but noted that he has had four meetings in the White House since Trump’s inauguration. “I think this will make people more concerned about Tillerson and the State Department,” he said."
https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/.premium-zoa-calls-on-trump-to-fire-tillerson-over-global-terrorism-report-1.5434309

Even the Secretary of Defense left due to policy (according to reports). The policy:

"After resigning following Trump’s decision to withdraw troops from Syria, Mattis said he would stay on the job until the end of February in order to ensure a smooth transition.

But, according to multiple reports, Mattis and Trump had a contentious relationship and Mattis will stay on until January 1 when Shanahan – who has a strong relationship with the president and Vice President Mike Pence – will take over."

If approved by the Senate, Shanahan will be in charge of Trump’s decision to withdraw some 2,000 US forces from Syria, and cut half of the 14,000 troops in Afghanistan.

Experts have warned that the withdrawal of troops from the region could put Israel at risk. One unnamed senior diplomatic official quoted by Channel 10 said, “Trump threw us under the wheels of the semi-truck of the Russian army, the one that transfers weapons to Syria and Hezbollah.”

https://www.jpost.com/American-Politics/Will-the-new-US-Defense-Secretary-be-good-for-Israel-575636

So Trumps two original picks for SecDef and NSA -- who were foreign policy realists -- were ousted amidst accusations that they were anti-Israel and the third left due to Trump insisting on following through on withdrawing troops from a foreign entanglement.

The replacements?

Mike "it's possible God raised Trump to protect Israel (https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/03/22/mike-pompeo-trump-god-israel-cbn-intv-kosinski-dnt-lead-vpx.cnn)" Pompeo and John "Adelson personally lobbied the president (https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2019/05/interests-pushing-for-hard-line-against-iran/)" Bolton for SecState and NSA. For Defense it was Shanahan who was undersecretary but he wasn't a known quantity and all of a sudden when the SecDef position was wide open a domestic violence issue was "discovered" (https://www.timesofisrael.com/trump-still-without-defense-chief-after-shanahan-withdraws-nomination/) that somehow didn't receive scrutiny when he was vetted through the confirmation process for Undersecretary of Defense. Who replaces him? Mark "Pompeo's college buddy and classmate that graduated together in the same year" (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/policy/defense-national-security/with-new-pentagon-chief-mark-esper-pompeo-gains-an-ally-in-west-point-classmate) Esper

So what's going on with all the staff changes? It's all speculation but my thoughts at the moment are that Trump got some good advice on his initial picks maybe from Steve Bannon, Tucker Carlson, Flynn etc . This alarmed the military industrial complex, neo-con, pro-Saudi, and pro Israel, hawk lobbies/interest groups and Trump was then was outplayed in the game of bureaucratic politics. The seasoned political hacks and the establishment that know how to leverage pressure internally and externally by smearing and pitting people against each other overran an inexperienced Trump.

I think Trump might be in the process of realizing that as Tucker Carlson put it (http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1906/22/cnr.03.html) "The hawks did not have the president's best interest at heart. And if Mr. Trump got into a war with Iran he could kiss his chances of re-election good-bye." and might be striking back.

Didn't expect to type this much and could be completely off but that's my 2 cents at the moment and am open to other interpretations of the facts.
