Wake up, people, both parties failing you

The House voted on Wednesday to give itself a nice $4,400 pay raise that would increase their salaries to almost $170,000. It seems Washington believes anyone who’s able to lose the confidence of 86 percent of all Americans should get compensated nicely for that difficult task.

By a 244-181 vote, Democrats and Republicans alike once again revealed their disdain for the American people by rewarding themselves a handsome pay raise while many of their constituents struggle in today’s economy – a struggle brought on largely in part by the incompetence of the lawmakers themselves.

Yet, one must ask. Where are the American people? Where is the outrage? The answer is simple. The American people just don’t care. The American people are asleep. They’ve grown accustomed to entrusting their lives and liberties to tyrants and fools.

One only need look at recent polls to hold these truths to be self- evident. Hillary Clinton. Barrack Obama. Fred Thompson. John McCain. Mitt Romney. Rudy Giuliani. Would someone awaken me from this nightmare please! The political process in this country has vetted two parties against each other. Republican and Democrat. In doing so, the American people have lost all sense of reason as to what the political process is all about.

The people have become comfortable with the lesser of two evils approach to electing a president. Sadly. No matter how you dress it, the “lesser of two evils is still evil.”

We are a nation of the people, by the people and for the people. To support a candidate who embraces the ideals of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bildergerg Group, the United Nation’s Agenda 21 or the North American Union is unconscionable. It’s time Americans supported a candidate who reflects the ideals of the founding fathers and the principles they espoused; limited government, a non-interventionist foreign policy and individual liberties.

That candidate is Ron Paul, a man with an impeccable record in Washington, a champion of the Constitution and a champion of the people. Don’t sell yourself and future generations short. Learn the refreshing truth at ronpaul2008.com It’s time to stop being a good Democrat. It’s time to stop being a good Republican. It’s time to start being a good American.

Excellent letter. That writer is on the pulse of the people. Whatever candidate also is, will win. Simple as that.

Remember 1992 and how angry people were over government arrogance then. The spillover and after effects lasted to 1994.
