New York state OKs licenses for illegals

New York became the 13th state to authorize driver's licenses for immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally under legislation approved by lawmakers and signed into law Monday night.The Democrat-led state Senate voted 33-29 in favor of the bill after several hours of debate and was quickly signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat. The Assembly passed the measure last week.

Licenses are only good for driving and do not qualify the person for any other rights or benefits. The theory is that now they must have training and will better know and follow the rules of the road and be safer drivers.

If you want to say people should be allowed here freely that's one thing, bad, but one thing, but these government officials are treating illegal immigrants better than their own citizens.
