This is an amazing video. And a great YouTube channel.

It confirms what many of us already knew - that YouTube pushes mainstream media over more legitimate creators. But, there was always the talking point "Yeah, no, that's just your bias, and it's obvious that mainstream media would be the most popular, and trend the most, so you're just a conspiracy theorist". Nope. It's very evident that one group of people plays by one set of rules, while another gets another.
I also don't know if CoffeeBreak paraphrased one of the quote's of YouTube's CEO or not, regarding "getting independent creators to 50%" (on a platform designed for independent creators, hahaha). But the context of that conversation is very telling. YouTube isn't interested in everyone having the same rules lol. If the rules were the same, this wouldn't be a conversation of 45% or 50% for independent creators. They would crush traditional media. All that conversation says is that YouTube is interested in pushing their controlled outcome, and yeah, sure - you can squabble about the bread crumbs they'll give you.
