A quick look at just the Wikipedia entry reveals Bolton to be a prime architect of every lie ever told to get us into war with someone or other. Bolton was also a member of the Neocon think tank, Project for a New American Century, which all but wished for a "new Pearl Harbor" in order to achieve its Middle East objectives, starting with the invasion of Iraq.

During the run-up to the Iraq invasion, Bolton pushed out Jose Bustani, retired Brazilian diplomat and head of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, by threatening his kids. Glenn Greenwald's intercept says:
In early 2002, a year before the invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration was putting intense pressure on Bustani to quit as director-general of the OPCW — despite the fact that he had been unanimously re-elected to head the 145-nation body just two years earlier. His transgression? Negotiating with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq to allow OPCW weapons inspectors to make unannounced visits to that country — thereby undermining Washington’s rationale for regime change....
According to Bustani, Bolton told him: “You have 24 hours to leave the organization, and if you don’t comply with this decision by Washington, we have ways to retaliate against you.”
There was a pause.

Democratic Congressman Henry Waxman alleged that Bolton played a role in encouraging the inclusion of statement that British Intelligence had determined Iraq attempted to procure yellowcake uranium from Niger in Bush's 2003 State of the Union Address.[92] These statements were claimed by critics of the President to be partly based on documents found to be forged.
Oh yes, tough guy Bolton was a supporter of the Vietnam War in college but dodged the draft by doing a Bush, and joining the National Guard, an option open primarily to the well-connected.
This is the common thug who is running American foreign policy. Just sayin'.
