Iraqi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasoul told The Associated Press that a Katyusha rocket fell near the statue of the Unknown Soldier, less than a mile from the U.S. Embassy. If it landed a mile away then that could not have been the intended target if it was fired less than 6 miles away if it is the older M - 14 version . It would be more accurate than that . The newer version , the Grad has more range , maybe twice that but I am not as familiar with .

In America you would call these MLRS . It is cheap artillery that will maybe scare the shit out of unseasoned troops and thats about it . They have to get lucky to hit what they want. But I do not think you can miss by a mile .
