Former Vice President Joe Biden (https://thehill.com/people/joe-biden) has a 32-point lead in the Democratic presidential race in a Hill-HarrisX poll released Monday.

Biden won 46 percent in the poll compared to 14 percent for Sen. Bernie Sanders (https://thehill.com/people/bernie-sanders) (I-Vt.), who came in a distant second place.

Former South Bend, Ind. mayor Pete Buttigieg (https://thehill.com/people/peter-pete-buttigieg) was in third place with 8 percent, followed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (https://thehill.com/people/elizabeth-warren) (D-Mass.) with 7 percent.

Since he officially entered the race in April, Biden has seen an increase in public support and become the clear frontrunner in the race.

Polls taken since (https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/2020_democratic_presidential_nomination-6730.html) the former vice president's official declaration have shown him receiving support in the upper 30s to lower 40s, about twice as much as Sanders, his next closest rival.

The poll was taken Friday and Saturday among 440 registered voters who identified as Democrats or independents who leaned toward the party.
California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris (https://thehill.com/people/kamala-harris) was fourth with 6 percent, followed by former Rep. Beto O'Rourke (https://thehill.com/people/beto-orourke) (D-Texas) and Sen. Cory Booker (https://thehill.com/people/cory-booker) (D-N.J.) with 3 percent each.

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (https://thehill.com/people/tulsi-gabbard) (D-Hawaii), former HUD secretary Julian Castro (https://thehill.com/people/julian-castro), former Rep. John Delaney (https://thehill.com/people/john-delaney) (D-Md.), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (https://thehill.com/people/kirsten-gillibrand) (D-N.Y.), and Sen. Michael Bennet (https://thehill.com/people/michael-bennet) (D-Colo.) received between 1 and 2 percent support.

Rep. Tim Ryan (https://thehill.com/people/tim-ryan) (D-Ohio), entrepreneur Andrew Yang (https://thehill.com/people/andrew-yang), author Marianne Williamson (https://thehill.com/people/marianne-williamson), Gov. Jay Inslee (https://thehill.com/people/jay-inslee) (D-Washington), Rep. Eric Swalwell (https://thehill.com/people/eric-swalwell) (D-Calif.), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (https://thehill.com/people/amy-klobuchar) (D-Minn.), former Gov. John Hickenlooper (https://thehill.com/people/john-hickenlooper) (D-Colo.), and Wayne Messam (https://thehill.com/people/wayne-messam), the mayor of Miramar, Florida, received between 0 and 1 percent support.

No respondents expressed support for Rep. Seth Moulton (https://thehill.com/people/seth-moulton) (D-Mass.) and former Sen. Mike Gravel (D-Alaska). Four percent of respondents named someone else.

Respondents were not given an option to state that they were unsure or would not vote in a primary or caucus.

The vice president has strong name recognition and is likely being helped by his eight years as vice president to former President Obama, who remains popular with Democrats.

I say let them nominate him if they want him that bad. He is a weak candidate, I can't see him beating Trump.

All you have to do is look at how many people show up to Sanders rallies as opposed to Bidens.

Looking at Romney vs Ron Paul's rallies, one would have come the wrong conclusion that Paul has the bigger support base. Passionate and fanatic supporters show up to rallies while the average supporter just stays home and conducts their support via internet.

Sander will split votes between him and the other progressives in the race. He needs a strong showing in the early primaries which would solidify him and the progressive champ. If he fails to do that, he will not win anything easily.

Bullshit poll is bullshit. Sanders in actuality is the real front runner.

Bernie's most ardent supporters got pissed off when he ended up with new cars and new mansions after he let Hillary steal the election. Some may have gone for Trump, some may have gone further left, but either way that whole sellout thing was about the worst look he could get for himself.

The GOP finished with 37 percent of the vote in the 2012 presidential election in California . 4 million votes to 7 million . Ron got 200k ( 10 percent )votes in the primary for second place or , twice what Santorum got ( Third place ) , Newt with 72K for fourth place , no others reached 13K .

The poll in the OP has Bootyjudge in single digits yet still leading Warren , Harris , Booker and Beto with no others in the clown car at three percent . They are all wasting money because this will be sanders or biden unless clinton gets in.

There are a lot of Dems on this board , who are they going to vote for , Sanders or Biden ??

Well the democrats have their super-delegates to make sure this goes according to plan. If Clinton gets involved you'll see a lot of super-delegates falling victim to botched wallet theft.

I stand corrected, apparently the democrats got rid of a lot of the power super-delegates had.

Don't be so sure, if it gets past the first round they are back in play and with so many candidates it may just go past the first round if they want it too.

The 2020 election will come down to collusion between the Democrats and Social Media. Social Media will manipulate the election.

I’ll be interested to see how much control the Establishment still has over the Democratic primaries.

After McCain and Romney, the establishment couldn’t push JEB! through. I don’t feel like the Democratic primary voters are there yet though, but time will tell.
