On a snowy night in Plymouth, NH...

Ron Paul supporters showed up from across the state. 33 Republican votes were cast and 17 (51%) were for Ron Paul!

Best quote of the night. Ron Paul supporter who travelled in from Grafton, NH (over 1 hr) when asked how the roads were....
"Nothing was stopping me from coming out tonight. I'd walk here through the snow if that's what it took!"

:)

Results will be posted online and announced on a nationally syndicated talk radio show tomorrow (more details to follow)

:):):):) Every day I think RP winning is getting more and more likely. Anyone else wish they had put $100 on it 4 months ago?!?

I hope it Snows on the Primary day.

Then we will get 51% again, because no one else will show up.

They need to change it to

"Vote Ron Paul or Die"

If he loses the state, NH better drop their motto.

What would it be changed to? "Let's die" would be my suggestion. Or better yet: "Live free or die -- you know what to do."

As exciting as this is, there's an argument to be made that we should keep the voter enthusiasm a little under wraps. Right now the others still don't understand how passionate we are. Maybe it's better we kept it that way?

I felt bad that I couldn't make it, so I'm glad to hear that he won.

umm... I think it's gonna take more thn 17 votes to win New Hampshire. Us Paulites on here all keep up on this stuff, but just how many people will Clitoris and Huckleberry hound PAY to vote? I think they'll probably buy 18 votes.

Personally, I'm a bit umm.... almost ashamed of a group of people having such a fleeting spat of glory over what amounts to a sneeze in a raging hurricane, and then to think we're going to win. 17 votes of 33 people showing up? Yeah, we have the spirit like none other and of course, we're keeping up on things, so yeah, we're gonna have people there for the straw poll. Come Primary day, I'm sure it will take more than 17 votes to get the nomination. This should be a wakeup call.

As Colbert said, "Live free or do whatever it takes so I don't die."

33 people? That's 57% more representative than the Frank Dunce focus groups. Awesome. :D

agreed, it's a small turnout. Ashamed? Nonsense. There's nothing wrong with celebrating small and large victories. Weather was awful, people traveled far to vote. We won.

Of course it's going to take a lot more than 17 people to win. No one is arguing that. What this turnout is really indicative of is how much more motivated Ron Paul supporters are than the average primary-goer.

This was an open poll; anyone could go. The fact that 51% of the people who showed up were Paul supporters is the important thing here.

Pretty sure he will, people are very responsive to his message here, I've flipped probably 100 or so people. :)

While we did win its also true we need to do better than this rain or snow. Imagine if hundreds had showed up compared to the few others. We can't afford to just win, we need to overwhelm. "80% of the vote in the straw poll went to Ron Paul" would get some attention.. maybe headlines. The mainstream media is ignoring us so far so we need to make a statement, repeatedly. Soon they will be forced to talk about us and Ron Paul so lets give them plenty to talk about.

I would have been SHOCKED if RP hadn't won. I'm surprised it was only 51% frankly. Who the heck else did they cast votes for? Mitt? He probably paid them to go vote.
