A scuttled White House proposal to release immigrant detainees in San Francisco and other sanctuary cities triggered a fierce backlash Friday from Democrats including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whose office called the idea “despicable.”

The Washington Post first reported that the White House proposed sending the detainees to sanctuary cities, including Pelosi's district, twice in the last six months. The proposal was first floated in November amid reports of a large migrant caravan from Central America making its way to the southern border. The idea was again considered in February, amid the standoff with Congress over a border wall.

“The extent of this Administration’s cynicism and cruelty cannot be overstated,” Pelosi spokeswoman Ashley Etienne said in a statement Friday. “Using human beings—including little children—as pawns in their warped game to perpetuate fear and demonize immigrants is despicable, and in some cases, criminal.”

She added: “The American people have resoundingly rejected this Administration’s toxic anti-immigrant policies, and Democrats will continue to advance immigration policies that keep us safe and honor our values.”

Why not? Bus after bus load in front of Pelosi's house and neighborhood. Oh wait? We want them but "Anywhere but here?".

This is the "not in my backyard" mentality. What exactly is stopping Trump? Did El Paso lose the lottery for illegal dumps?

Big question is, why haven't they been doing it since day one of this sanctuary city fiasco?

Its hilarious, the only border city in California is begging for a wall, everybody else is virtue signaling.

Slippery slope.
Next someone would call for wars refugees from Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Libya etc to be settled right next to houses of political leaders who called for invasion of Iraq & supported mideast wars.

Why not? Damned right... Be serious and willing to accept the results of your own actions or DON"T DO IT. There needs to be MUCH more of this responsibility for one's own actions.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR OR YOU MIGHT GET IT...

Ok, cautiously and reluctantly agreeing to this only on moral grounds provided there will some safeguards in the form of assimilation services etc when children of wars refugees start interacting with offsprings of pro-war political leaders/ when any neighborhood issues emerge in any house to house clashes of civilizations.

Then they need to think about the fact it might come home with them someday, don't do it no worry. They all deserve this accounting for their actions. The only reason they think they can get away with it is because they think they are insulated and immune from the true results in cause and effect. How many of these refugees has Pelosi sponsored in her home as a good example?

I say "you bought it you get it, buyer beware".

This is one thing that is fun about Trump. He proposes shit that previously only sarcastic assholes on forums would propose; things that quickly serve to expose the hypocrisy of the elite. The man is one living, breathing, animated meme.

I remember Obama busing illegal aliens all over the country - and keeping it secret where he was sending them.
The difference here is Trump is being upfront and honest about it, and only sending them where they've already said they want them.

Majority of the migrants arent even children. I am getting very tired of the leftists claiming that all migrants in America's borders are all either women or children.

I believe Majority of American people don't want open borders yet the only ones that who do are the leftists.

This could actually save the country lots of money. Think of all the issues with detaining and policing. Just give them a card and transportation to the richest neighborhoods in the USA. No ICE needed. No wall needed. No prescreening or worry about drug dealers or rapists or any of that. Just streamline them via charter jet to the nearest landing strip. Maybe even close down a 5 lane highway now and then to allow the plane to land. Think of the stress relieved from the immigrants also. No need to make that treacherous journey. Just pick them up from their point of origin. Obviously we will need to get some luxury aircraft that would have first class seating in the entire plane.

Something in this Important to point out.

"Just give them a card and transportation to the richest neighborhoods in the USA."

Because of Liberal fantasy utopian policies they are not the richest... They tend to be the poorest and most messed up except for the few elite who profit from it personally. These demographics are an absolute failure in both economics and culture. So they absolutely deserve to reap even more just rewards for a job well done from their failed policies. They deserve the full burden of their own decisions and practices.

I think Roberto De Niro and Leo DiCaprio and Whoopi could also use some entitlement section 8 neighbors. Any person that wants immigrants should want them as neighbors. I am in love and live with a naturalized citizen. All immigrants are not the same. Liberals that want everyone should live next to the scummiest low life degenerates that ever entered the country. People that want no policy to immigrate should get no standard neighbors. The kind that are dirty, loud, blasting music, parties, throw garbage out their windows......... Dirty scum people need to be able to live in mansions or extremely nice neighborhoods to add diversity. Why should only rich people be able to live in nice homes? Living in a nice home is a right! Once an entitlement person gets the best, it won't be good enough.

She doubles down in today's interview with NPR - https://www.npr.org/2019/04/13/712997016/oakland-mayor-libby-schaaf-on-trump-and-sanctuary-cities

SIMON: I've gotten two very complete answers from you to essentially the question, would you welcome more migrants? I haven't heard a yes.

SCHAAF: I said yes. Oakland welcomes all people.

SIMON: So specifically in this case, if more migrants show up, that's fine with you?

SCHAAF: My job as a mayor is to welcome people. I don't build walls. It's our job to welcome everyone into our city, ensure their safety, ensure that their families can thrive. And that is my job no matter where those people came from or how they got there.

If I am not mistaken, she probably relies on those people for revenue. I think the state and feds kick in the entitlements and the city doles out the money.

"SIMON: Would, let's say, a thousand more immigrants greatly tax the resources of Oakland?

SCHAAF: Oakland is growing very quickly. And we welcome families. We welcome people that seek to make better lives for their families, that are willing to work hard and become wonderful members of our community."

And there is the spin bubble... "families" are a very low percentage of those coming. If this is what she thinks... she is in for a huge reality flash.

If Trump follows through (which I doubt) she's liable to turn into an anti-immigration zealot just to oppose him.

Getting closer to that every day, an agreement for a free ride to the USA & sanctuary status.....

Court settlement paves way to reunite Central American children with parents in U.S.

(https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-immigration-children/court-settlement-paves-way-to-reunite-central-american-children-with-parents-in-u-s-idUSKCN1RP021)(Reuters) - The Trump administration has agreed to allow approximately 2,700 children living in Central America to be reunited with their parents in the United States under a court settlement announced on Friday, according to court documents.

The settlement follows a lawsuit that challenged a decision in 2017 by President Donald Trump’s administration to shut down a program that allowed children living in Central America to be reunited with parents residing legally in the United States.

The Central American Minors program, which began in 2014, allowed parents living legally in the United States to request refugee status for their children residing in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.

Many of the parents are in the United States under the so-called temporary protected status, which allows immigrants from countries that have suffered natural disasters, civil conflicts or other problems to stay in the United States.

Last month, U.S. Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler in San Francisco ordered the government to resume processing children who had been conditionally approved for the program when it was terminated by the Trump administration.

The settlement, which must be approved by a judge, requires the government to finish processing children who were in the final stages of their applications when the program was ended, the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), which represented the plaintiffs, said in a statement.

It said the government anticipates most applicants will be approved and allowed to travel to the United States.
