Ron Paul Dresses As Poorly As His Internet Fans

While former front-runners like John WALNUTS! McCain go down the fundraising toilet, geek hero Ron Paul has reportedly pulled in an astounding $4 million in the second quarter of the year. Yes, that’s only a third of what Loser-To-Be McCain took, but McCain was supposed to raise millions more. Nobody expected Ron Paul to raise anything.

Which brings us to a problem, pictured above. The beloved Texas congressman/doctor/libertarian is walking around in “the Wal-Mart trousers and the ratty Reeboks,” according to shoe-blogger Manolo. Memo to Ron Paul’s campaign manager: There’s no need to have him prance around like John Edwards, obviously, but one good suit (with two pairs of pants, two shirts and three ties) and two $150 pairs of decent dress shoes would go a long way towards making your candidate look less like a vacuum-cleaner repairman.

Who cares. This ezine seems like a complete waste of time to me. They play the same "Ron Paul is what liberty is all about, but he's too crazy to run the country" without realizing that what he truly stands for is the fact that the president SHOULDN'T be the one running the country.

Please don't waste your time with these comment boards. Send an old friend a Ron Paul postcard instead.

It's funny, and I am sure that this type of criticism has malicious support but when all is said and done, the shit's weak. lol

I made a lot of money when I worked at the Pentagon as a defense contract employee with SAIC; but I chose to wear 40 dollar tennis shoes...and I wore out several pair in the 2 years that I was there.

I think it is a satire piece, that or the wonkette is just as crappy as fox.

Wonkette is just as crappy as Fox. They're catty Washington women, who indeed think it's a sin to wear anyhting less than designer duds.

"Catty" is just another name for bitch, right? J/K

Well, I see these adjectives: shallow, non-substantive, cheap and silly.

The thing is, I have read that site's "anti-Paul" posts before, and I never found them to be satirical just outright attack pieces.

Shoes don't look so bad to me...he was dressed casual, no tie etc..... I really don't see why this is getting any attention...as if all presidential candidates are supposed to be dressed up like rich mafia bosses 24/7

They would be better off spending more time talking about this guy as a possible running mate: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuH48JW8XrU :)

I don't remember ever hearing any crap like this about Ralph Nader, whose $79.00 suits almost always look like he slept in them.

Oh My, I am really glad to see this.

Is RP's record so pristine and perfect that attack pieces are centered upon what type of shoes someone wears?

If they really want to attack him why dont they get Robert Rubin to send out a hit piece article on the dangerous effects his "send it back to the states" economic policy will have.......... Oh wait, that would actually take a tad bit of intellectual power.

What the heck is wrong with cheap shoes?!?! I bought a pair of Nike Shoxx just because I could. Now, two years later, I still have that same pair of shoes because they are still intact. I garuntee you that 5 years from now, I will still be wearing that same pair of shoes unless they have fallen apart. Why? because I like them, they might not be pretty, but they feel good and thats what really matters. Why wear a pair of shoes that makes your feet look like gods, but hurt so bad that your face makes you look constipated?

Man, have you all lost our sense of humor or what? Lighten up and learn to laugh at life! If you don't find the shoe blog funny, then you probably have a laxative imbalance!

The campaign can take advantage of Rons cheap shoes. It shows that hes a thrifty man of the people, not some Washington Fat Cat. Adlai Stevenson had a hole in his shoe and it helped the old egghead out.....

That's because the establishment wasn't worried about Ralph. Their worried about Dr. Ron and they only way to attack Ron is to attack his shoes.

This is a good point. I firmly believe that Mr. Nader is honest in his intentions but he is guilty of a fatal flaw in believing that the salvation of our nation can be delivered via an activist government. Governmental activism on behalf of interested parties has gotten us where we are today; swapping out one group for another won't lessen the harm large, intrusive "caring' government does to our society.

In some ways many Americans are still at that stage where you first hear about socialism or communism. You may first think, wow that's kind of neat, community property, a classless society? But, like the dreams of childhood, we often have to grow beyond them.

Ralph Nader isn't a bad man, he's just a socialist dreamer.

And, I am a Ron Paul dreamer. ;)

If Americans elect a President because of the shoes he wears, we deserve another Marxist-Leninist, Neo-Con.

But we've been brainwashed to think that we need to judge people by their clothes.

I agree!

And by the way, Ron Paul has chosen to wear comfortable shoes since he had knee replacements.
