Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin will soon lose two top aides as he finds himself pitted in a fight against House Democrats over their demand he release President Trump (https://thehill.com/people/donald-trump)’s tax returns.
Eli Miller, Treasury Department chief of staff and a former Trump campaign official, will leave the agency next week, according to a staffwide email obtained by Politico (https://www.politico.com/story/2019/04/05/mnuchin-losing-two-treasury-aides-1259702).

Mnuchin called Miller an instrumental leader “who has been constantly at my side, and he will be very difficult to replace” in a statement to Politico.
Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs Tony Sayegh also intends to leave the Treasury Department by the end of May and is interviewing candidates for his replacement.

Fox News commentator Monica Crowley is reportedly in the mix to replace Sayegh. She was tapped before Trump’s inauguration to serve on the National Security Council, but withdrew her nomination after reports surfaced about instances of plagiarism.

Mercedes Schlapp

Schlapp began contributing to Fox News after her work as director of specialty media during the Bush administration. She worked on both his 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns, founded lobbying firm Cove Strategies and served as a board member of the National Rifle Association.

In the Reagan administration, McFarland was a speechwriter for the Defense Department and later a Pentagon spokesperson.

Scott Brown

Brown joined Fox News in 2013, after he lost his Massachusetts Senate seat to Elizabeth Warren. He was hired as an on-air contributor and was also an on-call host for "Fox and Friends."

Mosbacher was a Fox News contributor before she was nominated to be ambassador to Poland in February. Mosbacher has a long history as a prominent Republican donor, socialite and cosmetics businesswoman, and she has been a friend of Mr. Trump's for decades.

Scaramucci's time in the White House was very brief -- he served at the White House communications director for just 10 days before Mr. Trump fired him. Scaramucci appeared on Fox Business Network as a contributor and hosted a show called "Wall Street Week."
