This story is probably being "peddled" as a defensive measure to any RP wins in the primaries. Those with influence have continued to try and discredit any validity to Ron Paul's popularity. From Hannity's assertion that the post-debate polls were hijacked by spammers, to the virtual censorship of RP by nearly every right wing pundit. They have to spin any RP victory any way they can.

Frankly, I'd love to see the Dems and Indies switch parties and vote for RP in the primaries. It's a fair guess that most would get hooked on RP and NOT switch back. :D

Huckelberry would be an easy kill for Democratics. And I'm not %100 positive about the Paul part if they were being serious or facetious.

IMO, if anybody is encouraging their own supporters to vote Ron Paul just to set up an easy win for themselves, they haven't thought anything through.

All that is needed for Paul to succeed is for his message to be echoed in the mainstream media on a daily basis, reaching the huge sectors of people that really don't get to see or hear him. Anybody voting for him with purely underhanded intentions will be defeated on a GRAND LEVEL! That is why they are so scared of him, and really don't know what to make of his actual support.

You guys are echoing my thoughts as well, which is why I wasn't sure what to make of the story. I don't see how Dems pushing for Paul would work in their favor. But hey, if they want to help the Paul campaign. Great!

Right, a Ron Paul nomination takes away their automatic advantage they have against any pro-Bush, pro-War Republican.

Now, it is possible that many left-wing idealogues consider most of Ron Paul's views to be so extreme that they think he would be easy to defeat in a General elction, but I think they'd be wrong about that.

Many Democrats have mistakenely misinterpreted the nationwide displeasure with Republicans as an affirmative mandate for their big-government solutions. That mistaken interpretation could allow them to believe Ron Paul would be easily defeated by promising payouts and socialistic government.

I dunno about sneaky Dem tactics, but on the comment pages of several articles I've read about Dems switching to vote for RP because they like him. They're sincere about it...
