Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's testimony at House Intelligence Committee is rescheduled to the day of Trump's summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un (https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/06/ex-trump-lawyer-michael-cohens-testimony-before-house-intel-panel-is-delayed-by-nearly-3-weeks.html)

The planned testimony of Michael Cohen, former personal attorney and fixer for President Donald Trump, before the House Intelligence Committee was rescheduled Wednesday to Feb. 28 — just days before he is slated to report to a federal prison.
Cohen, whose crimes included ones linked to hush money payoffs to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy model Karen McDougal, was originally scheduled to testify before the panel this Friday.
But Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said Cohen's closed-door testimony would be delayed until Feb. 28 "in the interests of the investigation." Trump is due to begin a summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in Vietnam that same day.

The Justice Department said Wednesday that it had opened an investigation into a 2007 plea deal negotiated by a prosecutor who is now a member of President Trump’s cabinet that kept the financier Jeffrey E. Epstein from facing federal charges related to accusations that he molested dozens of underage girls.
The inquiry came in response to requests from Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska, who on Wednesday posted a letter (https://www.sasse.senate.gov/public/_cache/files/1e5e07ee-0138-4441-9e61-b6ec7037c4d5/-untitled-.pdf) on his website from Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. Boyd informing him of the investigation.
The plea deal, which was negotiated by the labor secretary, R. Alexander Acosta, when he was the top federal prosecutor in Miami, was the subject of a Miami Herald investigation that was cited by both Senator Sasse and Mr. Boyd. The letter does not mention Mr. Acosta by name.
In the letter, Mr. Boyd said the Justice Department Office of Professional Responsibilities would look “into allegations that Department attorneys may have committed professional misconduct in the manner in which the Epstein criminal matter was resolved.”

‘Unlimited Presidential Harassment’: Trump lashes out again at Democrats for stepped-up oversight

President Trump took fresh aim Thursday at House Democrats, claiming they were going “nuts” with unprecedented investigations into his administration and businesses.
In morning tweets ahead of a scheduled appearance at a national prayer breakfast, Trump singled out House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Calif.), who announced Wednesday that his panel will scrutinize “credible reports of money laundering and financial compromise” involving Trump’s businesses as part of a fresh investigation into Trump’s alleged ties with Russia (https://www.washingtonpost.com/powerpost/house-intel-panel-delays-cohen-interview-debates-russia-transcript-release/2019/02/06/42673254-2a24-11e9-b011-d8500644dc98_story.html?utm_term=.6be3c06edbe4).

“So now Congressman Adam B. Schiff announces, after having found zero Russian Collusion, that he is going to be looking at every aspect of my life, both financial and personal, even though there is no reason to be doing so,” Trump said on Twitter. “Never happened before! Unlimited Presidential Harassment.”
