43 percent of illegal immigrants skip court hearings, 49 percent for minors

U.S. immigration courts have hit a new crisis point, with nearly half of illegal immigrants roaming in the country failing to show up for legal hearings, resulting in a massive number of deportation orders, according to an analysis of court records.
The court system said that in 2017, 43 percent of aliens freed pending hearings disappeared into the country and never showed up for scheduled follow-up hearings. In pure numbers, that means 41,302 aliens out of 95,342 never showed up for their court hearings.
Among those under 18 allowed into the country, 49 percent failed to show up.


Failing to show up for court hearings is now the number one reason for deportation orders, according to the CIS analysis.
Writing for the Center, former immigration judge and Justice officials Mark H. Metcalf reviewed the court numbers and made these key points:



43 percent of all aliens free pending trial failed to appear for court in 2017.
Since 1996, 37 percent of all aliens free before trial disappeared from court.
Aliens abscond from court more often today than they did before 9/11.
Deportation orders for failing to appear in court exceed deportation orders from cases that were tried by 306 percent.
46 percent of all unaccompanied children disappeared from U.S. immigration courts from 2013 through 2017.
49 percent of unaccompanied children failed to appear in U.S. immigration courts in 2017.

Metcalf said, “In any other court system, such dysfunction would cry for redress. Only in U.S. immigration courts can litigants literally abandon their cases without fear of incarceration or removal.”
He added, “Rarely, if at all, are aliens held accountable for the same misconduct that in other court systems would land them — or citizens — in jail and in some instances brand them felons.”

My solution stands firm: End any/all Incentives. We do not need to support them, we would preserve the right of freedom to travel, there would be no need for costly court appearances unless they commit an actual crime, and the govt. would not need to build a wall on the tax payer dole. For the millions already here, either find a job - or go back home.

We do have some really stupid laws getting pushed which are flat out unconstitutional too, but those arent the laws they choose to break. No, they immigrate illegally, they demand welfare, they displace US workers due to sheer volume, they refuse to speak our language let alone even learn it, they demand all our services be provided to them for free in their language, then they steal, rape, and even commit murders. THOSE are the laws we have had it with them breaking. We want a better life means they want to take YOUR life, and see no problem with harming others as long as they get what they want.

What exactly do you mean by "displacement"?

If you are white, and want to marry a white woman, and have white kids, and teach them to maintain your version of white society, whatever that means to you, by doing the same, then where's the risk of being displaced? The presence of nonwhites somewhere nearby won't prevent this society of yours from continuing for as long as those who belong to it choose to maintain it.

Or, if you want to keep "whiteness" out of the discussion, then use whatever other group identity it is that you mean when you talk about your society being at risk of being displaced, whether that be defined by language, religion, culinary tastes, or whatever. The same point applies in each case. None of these are things the state has any business regulating, nor do any individuals have any right to use force to impose these things on their neighbor, whether they live nearby or far away.

A law that stops me from hiring someone that you consider an "illegal immigrant" on account of some man-made law that you think puts them in that category doesn't protect you from anything at all, except for a situation that you just don't want to have to tolerate of having those people too close to you, even without any of them ever setting foot on property that you can actually rightfully claim as your own.

As for stealing, raping, and murdering, those are totally separate laws. Repealing unjust laws that ban victimless crimes wouldn't stop us from continuing to enforce just laws against those things. It's totally dishonest for you to bring those into the discussion, because you and I both know that given the option of allowing peaceful immigrants who are innocent of all those crimes from coming here to live and work without limit, you would not support that.
