The Democrat “Problem Solvers Caucus” met with President Trump without her (https://bigleaguepolitics.com/president-trump-meets-with-problem-solvers-caucus-without-nancy-pelosi/)

Democrats keep saying good things about the Wall, without saying the word “Wall” Democrat congressman Hakeem Jeffries said on the House floor that Democrats “are prepared to have a conversation about infrastructure on the border” and “a conversation about our broken immigration system.”
Jeffries is the latest Democrat to suggest open-mindedness on compromise so long as Democrats can use a different term than “Wall.”
Jeffries said that Democrats are not prepared to have these conversations during President Trump’s supposedly vindictive government shutdown, but they might have no choice.

California Democrat Katie Hill went on Fox News (https://bigleaguepolitics.com/democrat-goes-for-physical-barriers-while-accusing-trump-of-political-terrorism/) to talk about Democrat openness to “physical barriers,” and Rep. Cheri Bustos expressed openness to a “partial Wall.”

Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got onto (https://bigleaguepolitics.com/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-takes-public-and-postal-banking-agenda-to-financial-services-committee/) the House Financial Services Committee Here are Ocasio-Cortez’s stated objectives for her tenure on the committee: “Personally, I’m looking forward to digging into the student loan crisis, examining for-profit prisons/ICE detention, and exploring the development of public & postal banking. To start.”

Pelosi is still haunted by her ignoring of the Angel families who visited her office
Shame on Nancy Pelosi!
She HID behind HER WALL and REFUSED to meet with the ANGEL MOMS we brought to her today!
EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW SHE’S A DAMN COWARD! pic.twitter.com/s61ekhGE0g (https://t.co/s61ekhGE0g)

President Trump guaranteed back pay to furloughed workers, shifting blame (https://bigleaguepolitics.com/president-trump-signs-back-pay-bill-placing-workers-lack-of-pay-on-democrats/) for the shutdown to Democrats

Her plot to postpone the State of the Union by blocking Trump from the House floor (https://bigleaguepolitics.com/nielsen-secret-service-and-dhs-will-secure-the-state-of-the-union/) was ridiculed

Chuck Schumer Did Not Have (https://bigleaguepolitics.com/chuck-schumer-imitates-republicans-holds-up-posters-of-furloughed-government-workers/) An Inspiring Press Conference Outside the Capitol Democrat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats held up posters of furloughed government workers outside the Capitol Wednesday.
Republicans including Rep. Mo Brooks and Louie Gohmert have already shown photos of the victims of illegal alien crime on the House floor, including a 13-year old girl who was beheaded by an illegal alien.
Schumer’s statement ignores those victims of illegal alien crime. Now that President Trump has signed the back pay bill, the blame for the shutdown shifts to Democrats, who keep workers from getting their paychecks through their refusal to fund the southern border Wall. Schumer held up a poster of a man with a heart ailment, but did not address the Angel families who arrived at Nancy Pelosi’s office this week while Pelosi ignored them.
“Open the government,” some of the Democrats briefly chanted.

Chuck Schumer: "I want President Trump to look into these faces and see what he is doing by using these men and women as pawns, using them in an extortion game to say I am going to hurt these people unless I get my way. Mr. President." https://t.co/Onj5jFK9Nr pic.twitter.com/7MyTMWhaUF (https://t.co/7MyTMWhaUF)

8. President Trump refuses (https://bigleaguepolitics.com/president-trump-were-going-to-stay-out-for-a-long-time-if-we-have-to/) to back down
“We’re going to stay out for a long time, if we have to. We’ll be out for a long time,” President Trump said on a conference call with some of his supporters.
“People are very impressed with how well government is working with the circumstances that we’re under,” the president stated on the call.

Shes gone her whole career without not having a bad day. It's gonna be a great day when shes gone forever and we don't have to worry about her anymore.

It was by invitation. She wasn't invited. Mitch McConnell was nowhere to be found either. No new law to end the shutdown will pass without either of them.

On Wednesday, a bipartisan group of legislators with no real leadership positions crossed the aisle to discuss what their leaders wouldn’t.

It might not surprise you that they didn’t get very far.

The bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus met in the White House Situation Room with President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and Cabinet members to talk about border security and ending the partial government shutdown, now in its 26th day. But whether this activity results in a breakthrough in negotiations is looking unlikely.

The White House did not invite Democratic leadership in the House and Senate. As of Wednesday afternoon, there are no meetings on the books, a spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi confirmed. Instead, they invited the Problem Solvers, a bipartisan group of House Democrats and Republicans who focus on issues including immigration reform, stabilizing the Affordable Care Act, and infrastructure.

The Problem Solvers clearly didn’t see themselves as negotiating in Pelosi’s stead. Instead, they were hoping to broker some sort of movement on talks between Trump and Democratic leaders, they said.

“We were there not to negotiate anything other than try to inspire a negotiation and with a strong message we’ve got to do so when the government is open,” said Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN). “Reopen government, and get back to the table.”

Meanwhile, a number of first-term Democratic House members were desperately looking for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who they were trying to convince to hold a Senate vote on opening up the government. They couldn’t find him in his Capitol Building office, so they went onto the Senate floor to try to leave a note on his desk there, eventually dropping it off in his office in the Russell Senate office building.

House Democrats who went to the White House Wednesday were lobbying Trump to open the government back up before negotiations continue on immigration and the border.

Why did they accept?

Normally they would have refused the invitation if she wasn't invited.

This is the same group who was resisting Pelosi becoming Speaker of the House without concessions.

The “Problem Solvers Caucus” is the latest thorn in Pelosi’s side, in addition to a group of 15 Democrats who released a letter last week vowing to vote against her. And ironically, even though they are trying to get rules passed that would keep a House Freedom Caucus-like group from holding votes hostage, the Problem Solvers are getting slammed by some progressives who say they doing the very thing they proclaim to be against — holding the speaker’s vote hostage.

Pelosi has spent the past few weeks cutting deals and flipping some key House members who initially opposed her to back her for speaker. The Problem Solvers are the latest group she must bargain with.

Not very accurate. The meeting had zero impact on her.

LOL

It was an act of outright defiance by members of her caucus, that makes her susceptible to more defiance from other members, it could eventually lead to her losing the Speaker's gavel.

This if confirmed could be a huge coup.

But won't be too surprising. MAGA from his days of funding Hillary Clinton, Obama right hand man Rahm Emanuel and other Democrats has had close ties to Democrats and until recently has championed many democratic/liberal positions. Conservatives hero Steve Bannon even used to call GOP-Jarvanka wing "democrats". MAGA's top donor and distinguished neocon Adelson used to fund democrats/leftists until recently. So MAGA-Dems marriage would be quite natural.
