CNN has a live shutdown clock. I think it should run until it matches our National Debt.

Though our political class is whining incessantly about the partial government shutdown, the overwhelming majority of Americans say the shutdown has had zero effect on their lives.
From 13 News Now (https://www.13newsnow.com/article/news/politics/shutdown-reaches-day-14-lawmakers-say-real-people-being-hurt/291-b1ba9ca9-fa5f-41a6-88d4-254ab9b4e2b6):
[A] new Rasmussen Reports poll of 1,000 likely voters shows that only nine percent say the shutdown has had a major impact on their personal lives. Sixty-three percent say the shutdown has had no impact at all on them.
I’d say odds are most of the 9 percent who say it’s had “a major impact on their personal lives” would say it has had a major positive impact!
The sun is shining and the birds are chirping!

Could go upto two months.. unle Dems didn't take MAGA's 'Wall for DACA' deal offer.

Dems are playing dirty and some trying to get GOP base favorite Coulter involved.
But she applauded MAGA few days ago:

Coulter commended Trump this month for his willingness to shut down the government over his wall demand. (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?530373-Dem-lawmaker-to-Ann-Coulter-Tell-Trump-it-s-OK-to-open-up-government&p=6736087&viewfull=1#post6736087)
"Though don’t worry, he’ll fold in the end," Coulter predicted while speaking on the "Mark Simone Show (https://www.iheart.com/podcast/mark-simone-20809356/episode/hour-2-louis-cks-comeback-30364383/)" on 710 WOR in New York.

The vast majority of the government is still open; money still flowing, civilization still being undermined.

....Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid alone (which amount for about 2/3rds of federal spending) are on autopilot.

Even where the employees aren't showing up, they're racking up pay due (with interest?).

And, worse, just because (e.g.) TSA doesn't show up, doesn't mean that the screening regulations aren't in effect.

They're doing the same nonsensical things, just with fewer staff, and so slower.

I guess the point of this screed is that "keep it shut!" type sentiments miss the mark.

The longer it stays shut the better things will get, more employees will quit and more departments will be affected.

Expand the shutdown until Pelosi caves.

I for one can't wait till they reach a compromise that both increases federal spending and further restricts individual liberty!

The real problem with our government is that it's not big enough or expensive enough.

Seems like one big scam since when the government opens back up the winners will be on the left. Trump does nothing for two years and then waits until the Dems control the House to make his move. By waiting until now it gives him an excuse to make concessions to the Democrats which may have been the plan all along.
