Ammon Bundy, the rancher at the center of a 2016 standoff with the government at an Oregon wildlife preserve, on Tuesday night knocked President Trump over his hard-line policies and rhetoric against a migrant caravan of thousands from Central America that is continuing to arrive in Tijuana, Mexico.

Bundy said that Trump has called the caravan “all criminals” and said that he thinks that characterization is “incorrect.”

"To group them all up like, frankly, our president has done — you know, trying to speak respectfully — he has basically called them all criminals and said they’re not coming in here. ... It seems that there’s been this group stereotype,” Bundy said in a video posted to Facebook.

"What about the fathers, the mothers and the children, that have come here and are willing to go through the process to apply for asylum so they can come into this country and benefit from not having to be oppressed continually with criminals?" he added.

Bundy first rose to prominence during and after the 2016 armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Bundy said in his Facebook post that some in the caravan will "act like criminals," but suggested that's not indicative of the larger group.

“It’s all fear-based, and it's frankly based upon selfishness," Bundy said of the rhetoric from the president and his supporters. “I think that’s incorrect. ... But also to base your arguments or your motives or your actions based upon fear is a very dangerous thing to do.”

He argued each case should be handled individually, and that the migrants have a right to apply for entry to the U.S.

Bundy's break with Trump was notable, as the president in July pardoned a pair of Oregon ranchers whose arson conviction became the inspiration for Bundy's standoff with the government in 2016.

The president has seized on the so-called caravan of migrants in recent weeks, portraying the group as an imminent national security threat and calling its members “invaders.”

Bundy is wrong, we are being overrun with hostile foreigners who want to impose tyranny on us and use socialism to pillage us, their enablers are already propagandizing them to hate us and we will eventually be targeted for genocide.

That is your own well-worn opinion you make a hundred times a day here.

I will repeat it every time the open borders crowd posts something like this where either a globalist or a misguided libertarian opposes securing the border against the invasion.

More “pre-crime” rhetoric without due process. As has been stated before, this “problem” didn’t exist before Mr. Eminent Domain publicized he wanted that Wall and Biometric ID along with signing that “forced unionization” agreement.

But you haven’t been had before with all that patriot act business. It just doesn’t sink in.

Nonsense, they aren't being tried and punished for a crime, they are being denied permission to enter our territory because they pose an unacceptable risk to my rights and this problem has been festering for decades.

Like Ron Paul.
Ron is too soft but even he wants the border secured.

I never said “they”. I referred to you and your rhetoric.

Securing the border and building a wall are two very different things. Trump is calling for a wall which obviously has many, many negative implications.

I wouldn't build a wall, I would bring home the troops and secure the border with our military until the libs agreed to end or massively overhaul/phase out entitlements.

But I think what Trump is doing, even building a wall, is a million times better than going in the direction we were headed. The whole thing is incredibly unsustainable - it's essentially a government program to bring in leftist voters.

Bundy is great. But he's completely wrong.
What exactly is so selfish about protecting the border and stopping foreign criminal invaders from infiltrating your country? He's the one buying into the "fear" propaganda. This has nothing to do with fear, and everything to do with actually behaving like we HAVE a country. No borders = No Country. What about all of the people waiting to come to this country and doing it LEGALLY? What kind of message does that send to those people when we reward lawlessness by allowing illegals in? No. Apply for asylum and you wait. You don't barge into another country waving your country's flag, throwing rocks, hiding behind women and children. Is that the kind of people we want here? I sure don't.

"I believe Hispanics have been used as scapegoats, to say, they're the problem instead of being a symptom maybe of a problem with the welfare state," Paul told the group. "In Nazi Germany they had to have scapegoats to blame and they turned on the Jews.

"Now there's a lot of antagonism and resentment turned just automatically on immigrants," he continued. "You say, no not immigrants, it's just illegal immigrants. I do believe in legal immigration. I want to have a provision to obey those laws. You have to understand this in the context of the economy."

Paul said he's not one of those politicians who believes that "barbed-wire fences and guns on our border will solve any of our problems." That's not, he said, the American way. And he doesn't think that a national identification card is the way to go.

In an interview today Bundy said he has been receiving death threats from people on the right for his position on this issue. He said he sees this issue as similar to the ranch issue- the government abusing power.

What the man said was, someone approaching the border for the purpose of asking for asylum has no criminal intent. That is not a violation of U.S. law.

Does anyone care to tell us why that statement is wrong?
