Better advice would be "Withdraw your cash and buy gold or silver". Advising people to "Withdraw cash and store it under your mattress" is kind of silly.

Making a bank run is laughable since our savings rate is so low it wouldn't even cause a ripple. This isn't 1928. People don't "save" anything but their a$$es these days and the bank already has our savings. They have our a$$es locked up in their vaults and lawyers stand at the door.
