A Republican congressional candidate from New Mexico is on the verge of being beaten by a Democratic opponent after she says thousands of ballots mysteriously appeared after the election.
“Everybody goes to bed on Tuesday night thinking that I’ve been declared the winner, and then suddenly on Wednesday morning they start hearing that there were 8,000 ballots that came up out of nowhere,” Rep. Yvette Herrell (R-N.M.) said (https://www.lcsun-news.com/story/news/politics/elections/2018/11/13/yvette-herrell-alleges-election-fraud-fox-news-jeanine-pirro/1991194002/) on Fox News Tuesday night.
A Santa Fe New Mexican report (http://www.santafenewmexican.com/news/local_news/herrell-not-conceding-house-race-in-new-mexico/article_22110b1c-cccf-5fe7-9b2b-cd481893a254.html) said that it took election officials all night last Tuesday to count the 8,000 absentee ballots, up from just over 3,000 during the 2016 presidential campaign – where overall voter turnout was much higher. One county was still counting provisional ballots as of Monday, adding 1,100 Democrat votes to the final tally for Xochitl Torres Small, Herrell’s opponent.
According to Herrell, there were over 100 documented complaints about the election in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District.

Right now, Torres Small has a 3,500 vote advantage while Herrell refuses to concede the race. This report comes amid new scrutiny regarding provisional and absentee ballots around the country.
