Based on scientific polling data available from all sources so far, I'm prepared to project that Navy Blue team (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?527899-Soros-vs-Adelson-whose-political-funding-is-better-for-cause-of-liberty&) keeps the Senate and Sky Blue team (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?527899-Soros-vs-Adelson-whose-political-funding-is-better-for-cause-of-liberty&) takes the House.
Original Red team had been banished mostly. Now it's race between Soro (anti-Iran war liberal democrat globalist) funded horses vs Adelson (pro-Iran war liberal democrat globalist) funded horses regardless of stripes they display to entertain cheering crowds.

Breaking down the non-scientific projections, unconfirmed rumors suggest that Netanyahu-Jarvanka-Conservatives and Syria-ISIS-Neocon-Liberals would not get completely wiped out during midterm elections and genuine America Firster Liberty minded folks from both teams would make only marginal gains.

Of course O'Rouke's going to lose. This is Texas were talking about here. It's gonna be a long time before a Democrat wins a senate state in that state. Though from what I've heard his campaign is the largest grassroots campaign of any democrat in that states history.

I prayed for God to guide my vote. Then I voted. Then I prayed again, "God, you better not be fukin' with me."

Good turnout here in Georgia. Tried to pick out democrats in the crowd based on the severity of the frowns on their faces.

Gonna go to bed soon. Worked last night. Supposed to be a storm coming and I'm not just talking about the elections. Good sleeping weather.

Some early bad news for GOP's Jarvanka Democrats aka Netanyahu Conservatives, AOC has been guaranteed to win:

29-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is poised to become the youngest woman in Congress

Progressive challenger Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez celebrartes with supporters at a victory party in the Bronx after upsetting incumbent Democratic Representative Joseph Crowly on June 26, 2018 in New York City. Ocasio-Cortez upset Rep. Joseph Crowley in New York’s 14th Congressional District, which includes parts of the Bronx and Queens.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was born in the Bronx on Oct. 13, 1989, and she's already on track to make history.
In June, Ocasio-Cortez won the Democratic primary for the 14th Congressional District of New York, unseating leading House Democrat Joe Crowley. Crowley, the fourth-ranking House Democrat, has represented the Bronx and Queens district for 10 terms and was predicted by many to replace Nancy Pelosi as minority leader. He had not faced a primary challenger since 2004.

This is a massacre. I hope my peers have the moral courage to call it such. No state or entity is absolved of mass shootings of protesters. There is no justification. Palestinian people deserve basic human dignity, as anyone else. Democrats can’t be silent about this anymore.

And yet, as Bloomberg notes, in somewhat encouraging news for Republicans, "in the latest forecast Democratic chances of controlling the House have slipped to 4 in 5, according to FiveThirtyEight, while Republican odds of holding the Senate are now 14 in 15. Still, that suggests the GOP needs a remarkable run of good luck to hold onto the Speaker's gavel."

You may have a point on fund raising, by the same token Trump's largest funder being a left-wing democrat neocon would be a boon for Dems in the long run as his secret dealings with his funders become more public. Clash of such emerging narratives as "progressive socialist" vs "fraud" is bound to be interesting for sure. But Dems overall have been spineless, timid and Trump has been bold; so GOP has some advantage still.

Cortez win was quite significant because she was able to win after taking such poblic "anti-Israel" stance in that deep blue district. GOP-Javanks Democrats aka Netnyahu-Conservatives would have been very happy with Crowley's win.

Democratic incumbent Joe Donnelly has lost to Republican challenger Mike Braun in Indiana, a major blow to Dems that means Republicans will likely expand their majority in the Senate. Pollsters have called it: The GOP has won the Senate. And as Lexington Kentucky's Andy Barr has won re-election, dealing a major blow to Democrats' ambitions for winning a solid majority in the House. Because of this, real-time projections that Democrats will retake the House have fallen to 50%. For those keeping score at home, the GOP has retained two competitive seats (VA5 and KY6), while Dems have swung two (VA10, FL27)
Meanwhile, in New Jersey, Democrats have dodged what would have been a major blow to their Congressional ambitions now that New Jersey's Senate Race has been called for Bob Menendez. Menendez has managed to win a third term, averting what would have been the first Republican senatorial victory in New Jersey since 1972, despite being admonished by the Senate in April for accepting unreported gifts and travel from a friendly Florida doctor who is now imprisoned on insurance fraud charges. That admonition came after Menendez survived a trial, and then was acquitted during a retrial, on corruption charges of his own. The Feds dropped their case against Menendez afterwards, but doubts about Menendez's ethical bearings helped make the race somewhat competitive.
Menendez defeated Republican Bob Hugin, a former chairman of Celgene Corp., a millionaire who self-funded his campaign.
Bloomberg is reporting that hopes for a "blue wave" type victory have continued to fizzle, as Republicans are still easily winning seats that would have been competitive if Democrats had a real shot at a sweeping victory. Case in point: CBS News has declared the open seat in Florida's 15th congressional district will likely go to Republican Ross Spano, meaning that Dems have missed another important opportunity to flip a seat.
As the odds that Democrats will win a large majority in the House sink, pollster Nate Silver revealed that he's switching his forecasting models to a more conservative setting.

Well, I'm trying to do 6 things at once -- we think our live election day forecast is definitely being too aggressive and are going to put it on a more conservative setting where it waits more for projections/calls instead of making inferences from partial vote counts.

It's 9 pm on the East Coast and polls have officially closed in most of the country. The upshot according to a summary from BBG is that Republicans are performing better than expected, though Dems have so far averted any major disasters. Polls in nine states close at 9pm, meaning that voting has concluded in the majority of the country.

So far, things are trending well for Republicans. Toss-up districts in Kentucky and Florida have gone to the GOP, and they've held on to seats where Democrats might have been competitive in a so-called tsunami.
There's also reason for GOP optimism in the Senate, with Sen. Joe Donnelly, a Democrat, appearing unlikely to win re-election in Indiana. That makes a surprise Democratic victory in the upper chamber unlikely.
Still, Democrats avoided disaster in New Jersey's Senate race and have flipped some House districts where they were favored.
Here's a summary of the remaining tossups.
https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/2018.11.06tossups.png

While Democrat Joe Manchin has successfully defended his West Virginia Senate seat from Republican challenger Patrick Morrisey, in Texas, what looked like a promising race for Dems early on has transitioned into a tossup as Ted Cruz has eroded insurgent Democrat Beto O'Rourke's early double-digit lead.
https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/2018.11.06beto.png
As of 9 pm, Democrats must pick up 21 more Republican seats and not lose any of their own to win the House. But perhaps most telling of all, CNN's Jake Tapper has proclaimed: "This is not a blue wave."

I'm not saying it will really have some huge effect in 2020, but everyone knows who felons are going to vote for, should their voting rights be restored. All you have to do is look at prison demographics. There's a reason why this is such an issue in progressive circles. Rand going along with it to shore up his "I'm not racist! Brat is a huge loss for the liberty movement. The establishment GOP is happy though. Karl Rove is celebrating no doubt. The put up a CIA operative as Democrat to take on Brat.

The “plurality wins” rules made it possible for the Libertarian to play spoiler and give the win to the CIA Democrat.

Like I said, literally nothing you say is not also being said in numerous threads across this forum and forums across the internet.

The fact that you insist you are so special that only you can see a secret script and make brilliant predictions from it is so far out from reality, there is no way to come back to this plane.

Pssst, it's not a secret script. It's a 2000 year old book. Get a clue, genius.

Still keeping head in the sand, I see. Don't stop believin'!

OTOH, if you still don't buy the script, the GOPers here can thank my friend Jeff Scott for taking enough votes from McCready to put Harris (yuck) in.

That's assuming that the LPers would have voted for the GOP. I don't know why people continue to believe that, but they do.

You think you make amazing predictions when they're just generalized guesses based off what we've all seen since this started in 2007. CNN projects Democrats gain control of House

(CNN)A pair of districts in the Midwest will add Muslim women to the ranks of the US Congress for the first time, CNN has projected.

Michigan Democrat Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party's nominee, will secure their respective seats in strongly Democratic districts following primary victories earlier this year that effectively decided their races.

That's assuming that the LPers would have voted for the GOP. I don't know why people continue to believe that, but they do.

I know firsthand that Republicans gave no love to the Libertarian candidate in that election. Not an ounce. He had no effect on the GOP vote whatsoever. Dems were much, much more receptive to the Libertarian message because, whether you believe it or not, there are still Dems that still hold the anti-war and civil liberties issues that they (and we?) once embraced in very high regard. GOPers are still Bush loving warmongers like usual. Nothing has changed there, thanks to Trump.

Party-Switching N.H. State Rep. Brandon Phinney Gets Slaughtered as a Libertarian (https://reason.com/blog/2018/11/06/party-switching-nh-state-rep-brandon-phi)

he New Hampshire state representative, elected to the 400-member body in 2016 as a Republican, switched to Libertarian in June 2017 after watching the machinery of allegedly small-government Republicanism up close. "I saw how they wanted to spend all of our money," he recalled to me in an interview this summer, "and that immediately set off every red flag imaginable." He targeted archaic laws to be stricken from the books, helped effectively legalize visiting bands drinking beer on stage, and prepped for his first election wearing the "L" right there on his sweater.

With a win tonight, Phinney could demonstrate that the most libertarian among Republicans can safely switch to the more ideologically sympatico smaller party, and still protect a seat. Other major-party politicians, surely, would take note in these polarizing times.

Phinney did not win. He got trounced.

"After two years of voting to protect personal freedom, control spending, provide transparency and after two years of proposing legislation to do the same (with two bills as a prime sponsor signed into law)," Phinney wrote on his Facebook page, "my district rewarded me with 377 votes." It got more bitter from there:

Malloy is also among the least liked governors in modern Connecticut history — ranking lower than Gov. John G. Rowland’s approval rating of 24 percent in a Quinnipiac poll in 2004 after admitting that he lied about home improvements at his cottage in Litchfield County.

Just to refresh my memory, can you post evidence of Ron Paul saying "you have to run in the GOP"? I don't recall that.

I don't think that's as much a direct quote over hearing him say multiple times that the system is rigged in favor of the GOP and DNC and that's why he ran as a Republican.

Here in NY I was hoping it would be like when people got sick of Mario Cuomo and elected a Republican - Pataki for governor. This time kicking out his son Andrew for Marc Molinaro, but no luck, not even close. Cuomo gets a third term and the Dems even gained control of the state senate. Complete blue wave here and all the rural counties that went Red as usual, votes don't count. Mass immigration over the last 50 years has ended the Republican party for good here.

If I did not live here I would say good, let these SOB's that vote for this suffer the punishment of their vote under the weight of higher taxes.

Almost. He often has quoted his friend Larry McDonald. He told him he was thinking of running for congress and asked him which party he should run under. Rep. McDonald told him to run under whichever party he thought he could win with. McDonald was a democrat.

Well, I was very wrong. I thought GOP would run the table. Not wishful thinking either.
I am glad to see some anti-Israelis in the house, like Keith Ellison, Ocasio-Cortez, and the Somali from MN.

However, the only thing that saddened me was to see Dana Rohrabacher lost his seat. With Trump's Israel first policies, I doubt Dana will find a position in the administration. Even if he did, I doubt it would be related to foreign policy.

My big fear was GOP would sweep big, and then use it as a mandate to go to war with Iran.

Today, politics feels normal again, since Trump started running.
Which means boring.

I was glad to see Florida overwhelmingly vote to give felons the right to vote, and Michigan legalize weed.

Thanks. Yeah that was more my recollection. Ron even said that he thought the most powerful political faction, if it could ever unite, would be the libertarian right and the civil liberties left, at least from a grassroots activism perspective. I know Ron never said that people have to run as GOP, though I'm sure there are some GOP types that would like people to think that.

If only we could agree, and get the word out we agree, that the Tenth Amendment guarantees states and municipalities the right to all the socialism they can stomach, and if socialists could give up their desire to rob the rural poor and give to the urban rich, the two groups could work very closely to pack Washington with honest libertarians.

And Washington knows this. It's no mystery why they're working so very hard at stirring up partisan hatred and silencing nonpartisan conversation.

Commiefornia had quite a few Propositions this election. Most of them had to do with taxes and bonds (debt), a couple about more regulation.

All of the bond issues (except a water bond, California don’t need no stinking water!) and the pro-tax side won on those propositions. Tax and redistribute from the rich! A gasoline tax will really hurt those billionaires!

Interestingly, a couple of the regulatory props failed. There was a rent control prop that failed. And an attempt to regulate kidney dialysis failed. I would attribute that directly to heavy advertisement spending. More regulation on ambulance companies passed, because it gave drivers breaks that could not be interrupted by silly emergency calls.

And lastly, an “animal rights” proposition about animals in cages passed. This was ironic, as it was opposed by PETA and other animal rights groups. It was a stealth crony farm prop that locked in rules that fit in with existing practices by the big corp farmers. It will just hurt small farmers, as usual. One person I know voted for it, and when told what it does, she was shocked and said “why didn’t anyone tell me!!!” Another voter who just reads the title and knows nothing. Typical. Ignorance of the common voter is the Achilles heal of any voting process.

A part of me thinks we should be helping them to bring this entire charade to an inflection point of critical mass, since it's easier to destroy this unnatural monstrosity as opposed to rolling it back legislatively.

Gone: Dave Brat, Rod Blum.

Results here in NY are scary. My district flipped from Faso to Delgado. Did not think that would happen. If Republicans don't take back power 2 years from now, the Democrats will get to redistrict and at that point we will never see a state Republican win again. That's not an exageration.

I have a lot keeping me here in NY otherwise I would have bounced already. Family, friends, my career, and many properties. I have my own little paradise with 60 acres and property I've been putting a lot of effort and money into making it my own. In a couple years I planned on building my dream house on the back of the parcel and moving my parents into my current home. Big Oil has poured a lot of money to defeat energy-restricting ballot initiatives in various states in the midterm elections, and it succeeded in two key votes.
Voters in Colorado were asked to vote on a ballot proposition to increase the setback (https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Its-All-Or-Nothing-For-Colorado-Drillers.html) distance for drilling oil and gas wells by five times to 2,500 feet, which would have put a lot of land off limits for new developments. Voters in Washington State voted on a proposal to instate (https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Big-Oil-Vastly-Outspends-Activists-To-Fight-Washington-State-Carbon-Tax.html) a U.S. first state-wide carbon tax.
Both initiatives failed, and both ‘no’ camps were supported by Big Oil.

Libertarians and independents, whose politics generally lean right not left, likely factored into the defeat of at least four Republican candidates, contributing to the shift in the House from Republican to Democrat control. This is not to say the typical Republican is constitutionalist (far from it, unfortunately!), but a shift Democrat control, makes the overall situation in the House worse, not better. In West Virginia, Democrat Joe Manchin barely defeated (https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/west-virginia-senate) Republican Patrick Morrissey, 288,808 to 269,872 votes, a difference of 18,936 votes. But Morrissey likely would have won if Libertarian Rusty Hollen hadn’t taken 24,231 votes.
In Iowa District 3, Democrat Cindy Axne defeated (https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/iowa-house-district-3) incumbent Republican David Young, 169,886 to 164,656, a difference of 5,230. The Libertarian candidate, Bryan Holder, received 7,005 votes. Two independents took 3,177 votes.

In Virginia, incumbent conservative Dave Brat, a tea party candidate who knocked over (https://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/11/us/politics/eric-cantor-loses-gop-primary.html) Republican Majority Leader Eric Cantor four years ago, lost a squeaker (https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/virginia-house-district-7) to a former CIA operative, Abigail Spanberger, 170,737 to 165,962. Just 4,775 votes separated the two. The Libertarian, Joseph Walton, received 4,135 votes. Had Walton not polluted the race, it would have been closer, and Brat might have been able to force a recount that could change the race.
In Kansas, an independent knocked out (https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/kansas-governor) GOP gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach. Leftist Laura Kelly defeated Kobach 489,337 to 443,346, a difference of 45,991. But the Independent Greg Orman collected 66,163.
In Florida, four candidates with no chance of winning collected 99,848 votes, which nearly cost GOP gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis the race against hard-leftist Andrew Gillum. DeSantis won (https://www.thenewamerican.com/percent.https:/www.nytimes.com/elections/results/florida-governor) by only 55,439 votes of 8,148,645 cast, or 0.68 percent.
One might say those candidates cost Gillum the race, which certainly might be true. But it still proves the point that down-ballot candidates with no chance of winning harm the chances of serious candidates.
And, again, most libertarians tend to fall on the right side of the political spectrum given their skepticism of anything to do with government.
In Georgia, Democrat Stacy Abrams refuses to concede (https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/07/politics/georgia-governors-race-stacey-abrams/index.html) to Republican Brian Kemp in the race for governor. Why is that? Kemp received (https://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/georgia-governor) 1,962,547 votes to Abrams’ 1,887,161, a difference of 75,386. It was 50.5 percent to 48.5 percent. The libertarian received 36,706 votes. Those votes might push the race into a runoff (http://www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/primary-runoffs.aspx) if Kemp's total dips below 50 percent.

Admittedly, there are cases where independent candidates are viable. But how about other cases where independent candidates do not have a chance, yet result in a worse candidate being elected?
