He said, "My eyes are now wide open and now realize I've been used to spread messages I don't believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative."

Rap megastar and fashion mogul Kanye West made it clear that liberals like to “bully” supporters of President Donald Trump after he was challenged by talk show host David Letterman on his support for the president.

“This is like my thing with Trump—we don’t have to feel the same way, but we have the right to feel what we feel,” Kanye West said during an appearance on Letterman’s Netflix talk show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, according to The Daily Beast (https://www.thedailybeast.com/kanye-west-fires-back-at-david-letterman-liberals-bully-trump-supporters-like-me?ref=wrap).

“So if I see a person that I admire talking about Donald Trump can think whatever he does,” Letterman says at one point. “I wonder if those thoughts, indirectly, aren’t hurting people who are already being hurt.”

West goes on to argue that Trump supporters are “treated like enemies of America because that’s what they felt.”

“Have you ever been beaten up in your high school for wearing the wrong hat?” the Grammy-winner contended. “Liberals bully people who are Trump supporters!”

The rapper, 43, said in a "rambling" interview Tuesday with Forbes that he contracted the coronavirus in February, no longer supports President Donald Trump and plans to run as a member of the "Birthday Party."

And on Thursday, Forbes released audio of three freestyle raps recorded during the West interview. The muffled, meandering songs feature him rapping without accompaniment, as he takes on coronavirus, racial justice protests and Trump himself.

Talking to Forbes, West said he has lost confidence in Trump's leadership, despite showing public support for the president over the last four years.

"I am taking the red hat off," he said. "It looks like one big mess to me. … One of the main reasons I wore the red hat as a protest to the segregation of votes in the Black community. Also, other than the fact that I like Trump hotels and the saxophones in the lobby.”
