View Full Version : Who Is Facilitating The Migrant Caravan

This subject deserved it’s own thread. It’s a highly controversial subject right now, considering the heated rhetoric surrounding the suspected mail-bomber and the shooter who murdered innocent people at a Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

One subject of controversy is who is helping the migrant caravan that has garnered so much media attention? What entities are aiding, facilitating, funding, supporting, supplying, directing, managing, or encouraging these caravans?

The most often people accused are some sort of Democrat organization, and the usual suspect, George Soros. The media and pundits are working overtime to deny any connections.

It seems to be a mix of organizations, and this thread is meant to put the various pieces together.

While it’s probably safe to assume that some Soros money has found it’s way into this current caravan crisis, has anyone actually followed the money?

A quick Google search brings up media reports that the caravan is being coordinated by Pueblo Sin Fronteras. It’s pretty easy to find this information. And despite many Democrat protests that this has nothing to do with any US organizations, a Spanish name for the group does not hide the fact that it is a US organization.

According to their own website, their committee locations are San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Tijuana. If you go to their donation page, it takes you to a Paypal page that says that Oakland, Ca is where the donations go.

Confirmed: Open Borders Group Behind Illegal Alien Caravan Is Linked to Soros’s Open Society

The open borders group behind the illegal alien caravan marching to the US border is funded by several liberal organizations including Soros’s Open Society.

The Pueblo Sin Fronteras (“People Without Borders”) is a project of La Familia Latina Unida, a Chicago, Illinois-based 501(c)(4) illegal immigration advocacy organization formed in 2001 by Elvira Arellano, an activist for immigrants living illegally in the United States.

The group is part of the CARA Coalition and is funded by a number of major left-of-center grantmaking foundations, including the Open Society Foundations, MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Carnegie Corporation of New York.

In Spring 2018, hundreds of migrants from Central America approached the U.S.-Mexico border seeking asylum in the United States and threatening to enter illegally if their request was denied. Pueblo Sin Fronteras, a project of La Familia Latina Unida, organized the caravan in conjunction with the CARA Family Detention Pro Bono Project.[13] [14] The CARA coalition consists of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, the American Immigration Council, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, all groups advocating for legal status for illegal immigrants and expanded immigration overall.[15] These organizations have been funded by a number of major left-of-center grantmaking foundations, including the Open Society Foundations, MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Carnegie Corporation of New York. [16] The caravan eventually halted in Mexico City on April 4 instead of reaching the United States border.

This link also shows the UN & few more interesting connections:

Selection of videos show parties that are aiding the migrants that include NGOs funded by George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, and Ford Foundation. The Mexican police were forcing buses and trucks to help migrants. Video showed a truck from the Express San Javier company from Mexico, licensed through the US Department of Transportation, helping migrants, and a truck with the Star of David on it was also spotted.

Update: The UN admitted on Sunday that it is assisting the illegal immigrants traveling in the caravan, with a focus on securing asylum for them. In addition documents that were leaked in 2016 show that George Soros worked with the United Nations in influencing international migration policy.

The new Ministry of Truth is having a hard time spinning this propaganda. The following article couldn’t be more weasel worded if they tried. They might as well say “there is absolutely no video evidence of George Soros handing out cash to migrant caravan members, thus he has no connections to this at all. Anyone who claims otherwise is an anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist”. Their spin is beyond disingenuous.

The major problem is that they can’t scrub the entire internet at this point, no matter how much they want to. The labyrinth of charities and NGOs often want to take credit for their work, thus the information is still out there. The can control the MSM, Google can adjust search results, and Faceback and Twitter can censor, but there’s far too much information out there to get it all. And they will just want to brag about it again anyway, so it will never go away.

Here’s FactCheck, a division of the Ministry of Truth:

No Evidence Soros Is Funding Immigrant ‘Caravan’
By Saranac Hale Spenc - October 24, 2018

Q: Is George Soros paying Central Americans to immigrate to the U.S.?

A: That’s an unsubstantiated claim that began with a tweet from Rep. Matt Gaetz and then spread widely online.

A video purportedly showing Central American emigrants who are part of what has become widely referred to as a “caravan” was posted last week by Rep. Matt Gaetz and, later, President Donald Trump. It has been shared tens of thousands of times on Facebook and Twitter.

The problem is that many claims about those videos also include misinformation.
...
But he has let stand the reference to one of the most common right-wing conspiracy theories — that liberal billionaire philanthropist George Soros is behind it all.

We’ve debunked a lot of claims that Soros is involved in orchestrating major social or political events. This is just the latest.

In his tweet, Gaetz suggested, without offering any evidence, that Soros might be funding the immigrants. And that claim has been embraced by the right-wing community that is spreading the video online.
...
Laura Silber, spokeswoman for the Open Society Foundations confirmed to FactCheck.org in an email that neither Soros personally nor his charitable organization have been funding the Central Americans traveling through Mexico.

Silber said in a statement: “Open Society certainly supports the historic US commitment to welcoming people fleeing violence and oppression in their home countries — a commitment honored by presidents of both parties dating back years, prior to 2016. And the foundation has supported various organizations working with immigrants on both sides of the border. But there is no funding going from OSF to the group of people moving north from Honduras into Mexico.”
...
Gaetz explained on the show that he was raising these questions because Soros has funded non-governmental organizations in the past. He said, “If you have organizers working in concert with U.S. NGOs or left- leaning groups that’s also a problem. So I think that we’ve seen that model in other parts of the world, Jake, in the Balkans. Judicial watch just did a report where you saw U.S. NGOs working alongside Soros backed groups for political outcomes. I hope that’s not happening in Latin America or anywhere else in the world.”

While it is certainly true that Open Society works with NGOs to advance democracy abroad and support issues such as anti-discrimination and gender equality, that’s not evidence that Soros or Open Society is funding Central American emigrants to come to the U.S.

Editor’s note: FactCheck.org is one of several organizations working with Facebook to debunk misinformation shared on the social media network.

George Soros’ money pays a parent group of Pueblo Sin Fronteras, the official organizer of the illegal immigrant Caravan headed to the U.S.-Mexico border. Soros also funds a Pueblo Sin Fronteras spokeswoman’s employer, according to records obtained by Big League Politics courtesy of independent researcher Brian Humphrey.
The group Centro Sin Fronteras, a parent group to caravan organizer Pueblo Sin Fronteras, is reportedly a “mainstay” of the caravan effort. (https://www.lifezette.com/2018/10/meet-one-of-the-caravans-main-organizers-pueblo-sin-fronteras/) The Centro has received funding from the George Soros-financed National Immigration Forum.
A Pueblo Sin Fronteras spokeswoman and organizer, Viridiana Vidal, is the Nevada state director for America’s Voice, which has been paid consulting fees by the George Soros-funded Immigrant Voters Win PAC. That Soros-funded PAC also pays salaries for America’s Voice’s top executives.
So let’s break down the Soros cash flow, which is somewhat hidden but actually very easy to find if you pull on the threads.

Pueblo Sin Fronteras’ associated group Centro Sin Fronteras, founded by Chicago-based left-wing pastor Emma Lozano, is reportedly the “mainstay” of the illegal immigrant caravans coming to the U.S.-Mexico border.
Centro Sin Fronteras formed the expansion group La Familia Unida, which now reportedly operates Pueblo Sin Fronteras.
Influence Watch reported (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/centro-sin-fronteras/): “Elvira Arellano (https://www.influencewatch.org/person/elvira-arellano/), an illegal immigrant from Mexico, former fugitive from U.S. immigration authorities, and activist for illegal immigrants in the U.S., formed the activist group La Familia Latina Unida (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/la-familia-latina-unida/) (“The United Latin Family”) as an expansion of the Centro Sin Fronteras. [7] (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/centro-sin-fronteras/#note-7) La Familia Latina Unida runs Pueblo Sin Fronteras (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/pueblo-sin-fronteras/) (“People Without Borders”), a group that organizes “migrant caravans” from Mexico and Latin America to cross the U.S. border illegally.[8]” (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/centro-sin-fronteras/#note-8)
Centro Sin Fronteras (“Sin Fronteras” for short) makes it clear on its website that it is the parent organization of Familia Latina Unida.
The website states (emphasis added): (https://fluenglish.wordpress.com/about/) “Sin Fronteras organized marches every year and fought deportations on a case by case basis through its legal program. Many of these cases involved the separation of families with U.S. citizen children. When Elvira Arellano joined Sin Fronteras afer her arrest in 2001, Sin Fronteras formed Familia Latina Unida which soon grew to include hundreds of families facing separation. Together they testified in the city council, the county board and the state legislature winning formal support from those institutions as well as from the Mayor of Chicago and the governor of Illinois.”

Interesting! So the George Soros-funded Centro Sin Fronteras is the parent organization of La Familia Latina Unida, which is the parent organization of Pueblo Sin Fronteras.
Capital Research Center reports: (https://capitalresearch.org/article/the-open-border-activists-behind-the-illegal-immigrant-caravans/) “But who is Pueblo Sin Fronteras, anyway? The group appears to be a remnant of the now-defunct 501(c)(4) La Familia Latina Unida (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/la-familia-latina-unida/) (“The United Latin Family”), a Chicago, Illinois-based illegal immigration advocacy group formed in 2001 by illegal immigrant and activist Elvira Arellano (https://www.influencewatch.org/person/elvira-arellano/). The two groups are regularly listed side-by-side with each other and have overlapping staff. The groups claim (https://www.protocolmagazine.org/single-post/2018/05/12/Pueblo-Sin-Fronteras) to have organized approximately 1,000 economic migrants from Central America to cross the U.S. and Mexican borders illegally since 2010 (prior to most of the caravans). They also share the same Chicago address (2176 W. Division St., Chicago, Illinois, 60622), which is also the same address as the Adalberto Methodist Church in which Arellano once hid from U.S. immigration authorities prior to founding La Familia Latina Unida.”
Centro Sin Fronteras has received funding from the National Immigration Forum, which is financed by George Soros’ Open Society Foundations.
Influence Watch reported, citing the Centro’s Form 990’s (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/centro-sin-fronteras/): “In 2010, the National Immigration Forum (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/national-immigration-forum/) reported giving $60,000 to the Center. The Forum, in turn, receives funding from a number of major left-wing grantmaking foundations, including the Open Society Foundations (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/open-society-foundations/) and MacArthur (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/john-d-and-catherine-t-macarthur-foundation/), Ford (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/ford-foundation/), and Rockefeller (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/rockefeller-foundation/) Foundations.”
National Immigration Forum has received at least $2.5 million (https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/about/programs/us-programs/grantees/national-immigration-forum-0) in grant money from Open Society Foundations.
Interesting!
LifeZette reported that Centro, the Soros-funded parent organization, is the “mainstay” of the caravan effort: (https://www.lifezette.com/2018/10/meet-one-of-the-caravans-main-organizers-pueblo-sin-fronteras/)
“Ludwig told LifeZette that Pueblo Sin Fronteras has to be viewed in connection with a related group, the Centro Sin Fronteras (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/centro-sin-fronteras/) (Center Without Borders), which “is the mainstay behind the illegal immigrant caravans. The nonprofit was founded in Chicago in 1987 by Emma Lozano, a pastor at the city’s Lincoln United Methodist Church.”
The church, Ludwig said, “is a hotspot for left-wing activists and where other pro-illegal immigration groups such as the League of United Latin American Citizens (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/league-of-united-latin-american-citizens/)(LULAC) and Make the Road New York (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/make-the-road-new-york/) have co-hosted events with her to help illegal immigrants register for” the federal government’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
But the link between the two seemingly unconnected Fronteras groups goes even further, according to Ludwig.
“The center appears to coordinate much of the caravan activity through Pueblo Sin Fronteras (“People Without Borders”), a project of the center affiliate La Familia Latina Unida (The United Latin Family).” (https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/la-familia-latina-unida/)
“La Familia Latina Unida is a 501(c)(4) activist front created in 2001 by Lozano and the illegal immigrant Elvira Arellano, who is listed (http://www.peoplesworld.org/article/rally-fights-deportation-keep-families-together/) as the group’s president. Arellano was deported in 1997; she returned a few days later, and continued working in the U.S. under a fake Social Security number before joining the center around 2001 as a refugee hiding from immigration officials in the Adalberto United Methodist Church in Chicago (a church closely connected to Lozano’s).'”
LifeZette passage ends
Viridiana Vidal
Viridiana Vidal was listed as point of contact on an October 21 Pueblo Sin Fronteras press release. (https://www.facebook.com/PuebloSF/posts/2413594815333872?__tn__=K-R)
The Daily Beast reported on October 25: (https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-thinks-the-mexicans-are-spiting-him-with-the-caravan-yes-they-are) “One of the Pueblo Sin Fronteras organizers, Viridiana Vidal, told The Daily Beast unofficially that by Wednesday night the caravan had grown to 10,000 and “some were still coming across the bridge from Guatemala to Mexico.” The ragged procession stretched for miles. Those at the front were the ones gaining speed and would be the first to reach Mexico City, days ahead of the tail-end of the caravan.”
Vidal was also identified by The Hill (https://thehill.com/latino/412781-border-apprehensions-up-nearly-100000-in-fiscal-year-2018) as a “representative for Pueblo Sin Fronteras, a group that provides logistical aid to migrant caravans like the one currently traveling north through Mexico…” Vidal told the newspaper about the violence in Honduras driving migration northward.
Who is Viridiana Vidal? She used to work for Telemundo and Univision.
Vidal’s LinkedIn profile lists her (https://thehill.com/latino/412781-border-apprehensions-up-nearly-100000-in-fiscal-year-2018) as the current Nevada state director for America’s Voice, since 2016.
“As Nevada Director I oversee the implementation of America’s Voice message and strategy through local, state and national media outlets,” Vidal’s LinkedIn profile states.
Vidal’s Twitter bio (https://twitter.com/virividal?lang=en) also lists her as “NV State Director @america (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/member.php?u=16934)sVoice.”
Vidal wrote an op-ed in 2016 (https://lasvegassun.com/news/2016/jun/25/trumps-vitriol-turns-journalist-into-an-activist/) claiming that President Donald Trump’s supposed racism made her switch from a career in journalism to a career in activism, and identifies her as “the state director for Nevada’s Voice, a project of the national immigration reform organization America’s Voice.”
America’s Voice is funded by George Soros.
Soros gave $3 million to the Immigrant Voters Win PAC, becoming the PAC’s first and primary donor. That PAC has financed America’s Voice through a six-figure consulting re-imbursement and has also funded the top executives at America’s Voice.
The Free Beacon reported: (https://freebeacon.com/issues/soros-fueled-pac-paying-salaries-employees-pro-illegal-immigrant-group/) “The PAC disclosed $135,000 in federal operating expenditures, with much of the money going toward salaries to individuals at America’s Voice, an immigration organization that fights (http://americasvoice.org/about-us/) for “A direct, fair, and inclusive road to citizenship for immigrants in the United States without papers.” The PAC also disclosed a six-figure reimbursement to the group.
Matt Hildreth, the political director of America’s Voice, first received payments from the Immigrant Voters Win PAC on June 21. On that day, three transactions marked “salary” are shown to his name in the amounts of $8,541 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570442), $8,541 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570445), and $10,541 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570440).
Frank Sharry, the founder (http://americasvoice.org/staff/frank-sharry/) and executive director of America’s Voice, also received three payments from the PAC on June 21. Sharry received payments of $2,165 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570442), $2,165 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570444), and $6,265 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570447) from the PAC, according to the documents.
Lynn Tramonte, the third person from America’s Voice who received a salary from the PAC, is the group’s deputy director and also works as deputy director of America’s Voice Education Fund, which (http://www.guidestar.org/FinDocuments/2014/262/624/2014-262624247-0c2d7665-9.pdf)seeks to “educate the public about immigration policy, specifically to advance immigration reform that values citizenship and integration of immigrants mainstream into society.”
Three payments to Tramonte are shown on June 21 in the amounts of $3,025 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570442), $3,025 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570444), and $8,025 (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570443).
America’s Voice also received (http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/fecimg/?201607159020570440) a $120,000 reimbursement from the Immigrant Voters Win PAC for communications consulting services on June 21.”

The Soros links don’t stop there.
“In recent years, AV has received substantial financial support from George Soros‘s Open Society Institute,” reports Discover the Networks (https://www.discoverthenetworks.org/organizations/americas-voice-av), an investigative project of David Horowitz.
Open Society Foundations increased its grant funding to America’s Voice Education Fund in 2017, according to a 2018 Grantmakers Concerned With Immigrants and Refugees document on Open Society Foundations: (https://www.gcir.org/sites/default/files/resources/Profile%20in%20Grantmaking-OSF.pdf)
“In 2017, OSF U.S. Programs deployed a three-pronged funding effort to support this new strategy. First, it made about half a million dollars in rapid response grants to organizations2 tackling refugee and asylum seeker organizing, advocacy, communications, and coordination in the United States. Second, a grant was renewed to a refugee organizer in a large refugee-receiving state and a new grant was made to support impact litigation on the travel ban announced by the Trump administration.3 Third, several existing grantees received additional support to ensure they had the capacity and resources
to advocate on behalf of refugees and asylum seekers in addition to immigrants.4”
(The “4” footnote in the document shows America’s Voice Education Fund as one of the groups that received a new round of Open Society funding). Here is America’s Voice Education Fund’s web page (https://americasvoice.org/avef/), hosted on the website for America’s Voice, which shares staff. (https://americasvoice.org/about-us/)

Honduran migrant Luis Fernando Barahona looks at an ongoing catholic mass while a hairdresser cuts his hair at a shelter at the Jesus Martinez stadium, in Mexico City, Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018.

Humanitarian aid converged around the stadium in Mexico City where thousands of Central American migrants winding their way toward the United States were resting Tuesday after an arduous trek that has taken them through three countries in three weeks. (AP Photo/Rodrigo Abd)MEXICO CITY (AP) — Central American migrants in a caravan that has stopped in Mexico City demanded buses Thursday to take them to the U.S. border, saying it is too cold and dangerous to continue walking and hitchhiking.

Mexico City authorities say that of the 4,841 registered migrants receiving shelter in a sports complex, 1,726 are under the age of 18, including 310 children under five. OMG!

"We need buses to continue travelling," said Milton Benitez, a caravan coordinator. Benitez noted that It would be colder in northern Mexico and it wasn't safe for the migrants to continue along highways, where drug cartels frequently operate.
He said the route and departure time would be decided at a meeting Thursday night.

The Mexican government has said most of the migrants have refused offers to stay in Mexico, and only a small number have agreed to return to their home countries. About 85 percent of the migrants are from Honduras, while others are from the Central American countries of Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.

"California is the longest route but is the best border, while Texas is the closest but the worst" border, said Jose Luis Fuentes of the National Lawyers Guild to gathered migrants. (of course)

There have already been reports of migrants on the caravan going missing, though that is often because they hitch rides on trucks that turn off on different routes, leaving them lost.

However, the U.N. human rights agency said its office in Mexico had filed a report with prosecutors in the central state of Puebla about two buses that migrants boarded in the last leg of the trip to Mexico City early this week, and whose whereabouts are not known.

Mexico City is itself more than 600 miles from the nearest U.S. border crossing at McAllen, Texas, and a previous caravan in the spring opted for a much longer route to Tijuana in the far northwest, across from San Diego. That caravan steadily dwindled to only about 200 people by the time it reached the border.
Fuentes warned the migrants that if they are separated from their children they should "say they want a lawyer and not sign any paper."

Other activists and officials explained the options available to migrants in Mexico, which has offered them refuge, asylum or work visas. The government said 2,697 temporary visas had been issued to individuals and families to cover them while they wait for the 45-day application process for a more permanent status.
Wednesday's assembly came a day after U.S. midterm elections in which President Donald Trump had converted the migrants into a campaign issue, portraying them as a major threat.

Marlon Ivan Mendez, a farm worker from Copan, Honduras, was waiting in line for donated shoes to replace the worn crocs he has used since leaving his country three weeks ago. He said he left because gangs were charging him rent to live in his own home. (they do that here too, but they call it property tax)

"It is not fair that the good ones pay for the sinners," Mendez said of fears that gang members are coming with the caravan.
Christopher Gascon, the Mexico representative for the International Organization for Migration, estimated there are perhaps another 4,000 in caravans that are working their way through southern Mexico.

But some migrants had been visiting the organization's tent asking about how they can return home.
On Wednesday night, a bus left from Mexico City to return 37 people to their countries of origin.

Nora Torres, clutching a Styrofoam cup of tea, was rethinking everything. A day earlier she had been committed to at least reaching a Mexican border city where she heard there were good-paying jobs. But Thursday she said she was thinking of returning to her hometown of Puerto Cortes, Honduras.
"Spending so much time in one place makes me desperate," said Torres.

In the stadium, hundreds of Mexico City employees and even more volunteers helped sort donations and direct migrants toward food, water, diapers and other basics. Migrants searched through piles of clothes and grabbed boxes of milk for children.

Darwin Pereira, a 23-year-old construction worker from Olanchito, Honduras, left his country with his wife and son, 4, for the very simple reason that "there is no work there."

Pereira, who still wears the same cheap plastic sandals he left Honduras with a month ago, thought about what he would do if he met the U.S. president.

"If I meet Donald Trump, I am going to cry. I will cry because there is nothing else to do," he said.

(of course)

If wishes were buses leeches could ride.

Let's send buses for these fine people so they can demand more free stuff when they get here.:sarcasm:

If they were really fleeing horrors in their own countries they would either accept Mexico's offer or walk through snow storms to get here.

20,000 armed migrants attack Croatia’s border to move into the EU, official warns

The Bosnian-Croatian border is under continuous attacks by an armed mob of more than 20,000 migrants, an official tells (https://www.krone.at/1801367) Austria’s Kronen Zeitung.
The border at Velika-Kladusa is only 224 kilometres from Austria and more than 20,000 migrants hope to break it to move into Central Europe, the expert states.

According to him almost all migrants “are armed” as “almost all have a knife”. “The Croats are really trying to handle this alone. They have also positioned Special Forces at the border,” the expert says.

There are barely any women and children in the group, 95 per cent are men and a border policeman has already been stabbed.

“The majority of them come from Pakistan. And there are many Iranians, Algerians, and Moroccans. Their goal is not Austria,” the official added.

According to him the migrants want to go to Germany or one of the Scandinavian countries.

“Most of the young men have prepaid credit cards supplied by the United Nations’ High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR) and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF),” the official adds.

In simple terms, this is part of the billionaire globalist plan to neuter the US. They partner with global Marxists. Their goal is to divide and weaken all nations, and form a new world order that they rule. A global new world order ruled by an unaccountable, unelected group of crony corporatist kleptocrats, with boots stamping on a human face, forever.

They're walking up from Africa, now. Maybe all the women and children died swimming the South Atlantic.
