I mean like pre-Youtube. Youtube is like the gatekeeper of quality Ron Paul videos for all of us video makers.

Here is how you can download YouTube videos:

1) Copy the video link

2) goto http://vixy.net/ and paste the link into the converter box. It may take several tries to get it to start. This will be done completely on vixy server (no downloads to your computer yet)

3) After its finished, the download to your computer should automatically begin, if not you are given a link you can click to force the download.

4) Save it to you hard disk.

At this point the video file is still in the wrong format, but at least you now have it.

5) I use a "Total Video Converter" from http://www.download.com/Total-Video-Converter/3000-2194_4-10735760.html to convert to Mpeg2 DVD format.

At this point you have the video.

I use the latest Realplayer that has EASY built-in d/l features that can rip literally ANY video embed you can find out there. But I stilll always try to find the video pre-Youtube/etc as every time you do something it steps on the video quality.

I also avoid converting, except for I 'convert' anything i intend to use to raw uncompressed AVI using a nifty little program called "Fraps". Its a disaster for HD space but well worth it in my experience.

Thanks. I was just on my way to post that same link somebody just sent me. But I should have some d/l links to some other versions tonight...
