House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy plans to introduce a bill this week that will fully fund President Trump's much-promised border wall, according to an exclusive report by Breitbart (https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/10/09/kevin-mccarthy-introducing-bill-fully-fund-border-wall-midterm-immigration-referendum/).

The "Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act" would allocate $23.4 billion on top of the $1.6 billion already spent in order to build the wall the rest of the way, as well as provide for a "variety of enforcement measures."
McCarthy said in a statement to Breitbart (https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/10/09/kevin-mccarthy-introducing-bill-fully-fund-border-wall-midterm-immigration-referendum/) News that: "President Trump’s election was a wakeup call to Washington. The American people want us to build the wall and enforce the law. Maintaining strong borders is one of the basic responsibilities of any nation. For too long, America has failed in this responsibility."
On Monday, outgoing House Speaker Paul Ryan hinted that there would be a post-midterms border wall funding fight, saying: "We intend on having a full-fledged discussion on how to complete our mission to secure the border, and yes, we will have a fight about this."
"Given that this new bill comes from the Majority Leader, McCarthy, and this bill contains several other measures already passed by the House with high margins of success, its prospects for passage are promising," writes Breitbart's Matt Boyle.

The enforcement measures expected to be in this wall funding legislation include, among other legislation, Kate’s Law, an enforcement bill named for Kate Steinle, who was killed in sanctuary city San Francisco in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election. Kate’s Law passed the House 257-167 last year. Also included will be a bill the House has already passed targeting sanctuary cities, the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act, which passed the House last year 228-195. The Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act, which passed the House last year 233-175, will be in the bill, as will two House resolutions on immigration that passed the House this year: one upholding and honoring Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, the other admonishing illegal alien voting in a number of American cities. -Breitbart (https://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/10/09/kevin-mccarthy-introducing-bill-fully-fund-border-wall-midterm-immigration-referendum/)
The forthcoming bill will not address Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) cases - which will give Democrats significantly less ammunition to derail the effort.
McCarthy will travel on Wednesday to the US border with Mexico to meet with Border Patrol agents, where he will also receive a briefing from Border Patrol officials on operations and threat assessments.
While the bill will probably pass through the House with little trouble, the Senate should prove to be a bit more daunting - as Republicans only have a 51-49 majority, and would need 60 votes to clear a filibuster hurdle on a cloture vote - unless Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell changed the Senate rules - which he has been thus far hesitant to do amid enormous pressure.

where's the part about Mexico paying for it?

That comes with the trade deals.

If it's not included in the bill then it's just another 23 billion unfunded deficit with a hope that somehow things will balance down the line. That was one of the key Trump points, build a wall and Mexico will pay for it. Let's not do things half assed!

When we start toppling regimes in South America you will praise the wall.

If the efficacy of supplies reaching the boonies of Puerto Rico after MARIA is applied as a ratio,
then a 23 billion dollar Congressional allocation of funds will only result in 2.3 billion dollars of
actual wall being built, as nine tents of the money becomes payola or overhead due to the way
private companies were recruited by the Trump Administration. Can we say boondoggle plus???

Smart, introducing now in the house when they might not have a majority after the midterms but chances are better with more senators, since they'll need 60

The ultimatum to pay is coming, or we'll shut off the flow of remittances.

Among the reasons cited in opposition to President Donald Trump’s proposed border wall between the United States and Mexico is the cost. But if “cost” is the only reason to refrain from building a wall, it could be an example of being penny-wise while pound foolish.
The truth is that the cost of building the wall is far less than the cost of continuing to allow illegal immigrants to flood into the country. For several years, we have been told that the number of illegal aliens in the country is around 11 million. Recent studies have refuted that low number, setting the number as over 20 million. One of every five babies born in the United States during 2014 was to an immigrant, legal or illegal.
The cost of paying for the nearly 300,000 children born to illegal-immigrant women living in the United States was $2.4 billion in 2014 alone, which is $800 million more than the Senate has approved for the border wall this year and, if spent every year, could pay for the entire wall in 10 years.
And that’s not all: The total bill for childbirth and early childcare for illegal and legal immigrants combined is an astounding $5.3 billion per year. This would pay for the wall in less than five years.

There are some, of course, who oppose the building of the wall because they believe it would be ineffective, arguing that people could simply dig under the wall or climb over it. After all, there were some who made it from East Berlin to West Berlin during the days of the Berlin Wall, despite the presence of guards with machine guns, German shepherd dogs, and barbed wire on top of the fence. But the truth is that many times more East Berliners would have gone into West Berlin without a wall.
The wall is just one tool that could be used along with other measures, such as security cameras and more border guards.
A more serious argument against the wall is that expressed by former Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who said that a wall can keep people in as well as keep people out. Whatever we do, we do not want to infringe on the rights of American citizens to leave the country when they so desire, or take property away from farmers on the border, without just compensation.
But the argument that the wall is too expensive is not a good one when one stacks it up against the costs of illegal immigration.

Even the repubs won't talk about ending welfare/free handouts. That stupid Berlin I mean mex/am wall is nothing more than tax and spend and opposes a free society.

I can't wait to see what passports will cost, in addition to bio-id that will go along with it. And additional restrictions concerning what assets I can or cannot take back and forth.
