Be interesting to see how American Freedoms/human rights & anti-nepotism champions like Ivanka/Kushner , GOP-JV wing's leadership and widely respected Congressional Israeli champions like 'lyin Ted' would respond to this:

Israel detains American student for her alleged boycott support

JERUSALEM -- In a groundbreaking case, Israel has detained an American graduate student at its international airport for the past week, accusing her of supporting a Palestinian-led boycott campaign against the Jewish state.

The case highlights Israel's concerns about the boycott movement and the great efforts it has made to stop it. The grassroots campaign has made significant inroads in recent years, particularly among university students and millennials.

An Israeli court has ordered that she remain in custody while she appeals.

MAGA seems too bold and upright to be victim of such manipulations.

Israeli killings of civilians could cost Trump Nobel Peace Prize
Recently there has been lot of buzz about NK's KJU and Trump winning Nobel Peace prize but chances for Trump's Peace Prize seem to have diminished after controversial NYDailyNews cover (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?522238-US-embassy-in-Jerusalem-opens-Mon-Ivanka-arrives-Bachmann-apologizes-for-Jews-conversion-rem&p=6628676&viewfull=1#post6628676)about killing of large number of Palestinian civilians went viral.

How is her belief in America a crime in Israel?

If they want to throw her out and bar her from coming back that is their privilege but this is insane, Trump needs to order them to release her.

While in principle that is a good point, Trump is bit too fearless and even rash at times to be handling such a delicate matter directly.
He also has the habit of attacking those he's negotiating with. If he brought up Israel's killing of US sailors on USS Liberty, Israeli agent Jonathon Pollard stealing US military secrets or Israel launching terrorist attacks targetting US/UK buildings and trying to frame mideastern groups (Lavon Affair), or wose cut off US taxpayers aid altogether (US Officially Sends Largest Ever $38 Billion Military Aid Package to Israel (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?527183-US-Officially-Sends-Largest-Ever-38-Billion-Military-Aid-Package-to-Israel&)), that could put survival of the only non-racist democracy in mideast at risk and sprak a crisis.
Probably some cooler heads from Congress or WH would be better suited to handle this matter.

Trump is perfect for the job, cooler heads won't get Israel's attention, they will continue to believe that they can get away with anything.

That is a compeling argument, have to admit.

I just fear if he ended up insulting widely respected Netanyahu, probably the only world leader he's got along with fine so far, it could cause rift within GOP-Jarvanka wing and he could lose support of Joe Lieberman, Dershowitz, Kushner etc and more importantly Israeli lobbies funding ahead of midterms.

I think maybe that you're doing like I did when I first read the blurbs in the OP. She isn't being detained as in "you are our prisoner". She's being detained because she was denied entrance to the country when she arrived based on her ties/support to the boycott groups, and she is appealing the decision to deny her entrance into Israel and has no plans to leave. So the judge ordered her detain at the airport while the appeal process is ran since she can't go anywhere else until it's done with the exception of America. She's there to attend the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and is already registered. Some of her soon to be professors are also helping to expedite the appeal barring her entry.

That's better, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the other way though.

Thanks.

While many US politicians, especially those with expensive campaigns needing help from money baggers, are still pro-Israel , from sampling of news comments it appears majority public view post 9/11, Iraq war, Syria bloodbath is no longer pro-Israel.
Couple of comments below this news:

"Alqasem is registered to study human rights at Israel's Hebrew University in Jerusalem." She is getting a first hand lesson on human rights.

The fact that they even know so much about everyone that comes into their country is what is scary. How on earth did they know this girl supports the boycott movement. Scary people for sure.

Could following report explain how they knew? If so, is this still going on under GOP-Jarvanka wing regime?

The latest came this week, in response to a report from British press that revealed the National Security Agency commonly provides Israel with intelligence data — without first stripping out private and personal information on American citizens. The Guardian in London reported the item, the latest in its coverage of document leaks from Edward Snowden.
Mr. Woods unleashed his views of the matter — and of Mr. Obama's role in allowing the practice to occur — on Twitter.

On a side note, James Woods used pretty harsh terms for then historic POTUS, he probably did not take into account the kind of pressure/abuse behind the scene he may have been subjected to.

Publisher of the ‘Atlanta Jewish Times’ suggests Mossad should assassinate Obama (http://mondoweiss.net/2012/01/publisher-of-the-atlanta-jewish-times-suggests-mossad-should-assassinate-obama.html)
Adam Horowitz on January 20, 2012

John Cook reports at Gawker (http://gawker.com/5877892/): Andrew Adler, the owner and publisher of the Atlanta Jewish Times, a weekly newspaper serving Atlanta’s Jewish community, devoted his January 13, 2012 column to the thorny problem of the U.S. and Israel’s diverging views on the threat posed by Iran. Basically Israel has three options, he wrote: Strike Hezbollah and Hamas, strike Iran, or “order a hit” on Barack Obama (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/284979-ajt.html). Either way, problem solved!
Here’s how Adler laid out “option three” in his list of scenarios facing Israeli president Benjamin Netanyahu (the column, which was forwarded to us by a tipster, isn’t online, but you can read a copy here (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/284979-ajt.html)):

Three, give the go-ahead for U.S.-based Mossad agents to take out a president deemed unfriendly to Israel in order for the current vice president to take his place, and forcefully dictate that the United States’ policy includes its helping the Jewish state obliterate its enemies.
Yes, you read “three” correctly. Order a hit on a president in order to preserve Israel’s existence. Think about it. If I have thought of this Tom Clancy-type scenario, don’t you think that this almost unfathomable idea has been discussed in Israel’s most inner circles?
Another way of putting “three” in perspective goes something like this: How far would you go to save a nation comprised of seven million lives…Jews, Christians and Arabs alike?
You have got to believe, like I do, that all options are on the table.

An American student who was barred from entering Israel under a law against foreign activists who support boycotts of the state over its Palestinian policies was given permission to stay in the country by the Supreme Court on Thursday. In its ruling, the court criticized Israeli authorities for denying entry to Lara Alqasem, 22, saying their decision gave "the unavoidable impression" that she was barred for her political opinions.
If so, the justices said, it represented "a radical and dangerous step that could lead to the crumbling of the foundations upon which Israel's democracy is built".
Alqasem was refused entry when she flew to Israel on a study visa on Oct. 2. Security officials cited her role as president of a small local chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Florida.
Her case touched off a debate in Israel over whether democratic values had been compromised by a 2017 law that bars the entry of foreigners who publicly support boycotts over Israel's policies toward the Palestinians.
Thursday's ruling, seen by Reuters, overturned a lower court decision that had backed the decision by Israeli authorities.
Alqasem said she was relieved by the court's decision and would speak more later. Her lawyers called the ruling "a victory for free speech, academic freedom, and the rule of law".
Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan, who had denied Alqasem entry, said the government would look into the implications of the ruling.
"We will examine the legal criteria in order to ensure that the original intent of the law is maintained," he said. "The principle that whoever acts to harm the State of Israel and its citizens should be refused entry must be preserved."
