The years-old mystery of what’s in President Donald Trump’s tax returns will likely quickly unravel if Democrats win control of at least one chamber of Congress.

Democrats, especially in the House, are quietly planning on using an obscure law that will enable them to examine the president’s tax filings without his permission

As we all know Trump isn't really worth "10 BILLION DOLLARS", the mid terms became even more serious.

However I don't agree with making something like that public unless they're going to do that to every elected official. Not the self reporting, the actual returns.

We sent requests in April to every member of Congress asking for them to release their own tax returns, with the understanding they would be published. We followed up — three times — and 37 out of 530 members in office at the time responded. Six said yes and another six had already realeased their returns somewhere else.

Trump will go absolutely berserk if someone threatens to puncture his carefully crafted "successful businessman" persona.

...I could almost see him resigning office to prevent it from happening.

Resigning would not satisfy the blood-lust of the left. Complete personal destruction of their victims is their goal.

I was assuming that the law only applies to sitting officials.

Nope, the law has no such limitation from what they quoted. Says "any return"

Huh, well then Trump might be even more screwed.

Might still be enough time to it changed. Then they'd have to wait until he is out of office.

Guess it's about time the addage "everyone is a felon" catch up to politicians. I'd be behind it if it applied to every single one. But, it won't.

They've got their work cut out for them. they could spend a few lifetimes trying to chip away at Trump's ego and not even scratch the surface.
